Was a big deal earlier today about an embargo and no stores would sell any copies until they got the official word, which must have just been in the last few hours because on the whirlpool forums there was a LOT of complaining and people trying to jip stores into selling them copies..

I've been watching that while I'm in a training course. It's amazing how quickly grown men are turned into quivering messes over a game for a console!

A couple walking away in a huff because some vendor wouldn't sell them the game early and risk a $50,000 penalty (?).

I'm not in a rush for it, I'll go grab a copy tomorrow and make up some bollocks to the boss so I can get a few hours in before I have to go out Friday night. ;)

Typical. I'm looking forward to getting into Forza 3 and my xBox red rings. Will be a couple of weeks before it gets back. :

After liking the demo, I'm looking forward to seeing what you all think when you've given it a workout!

Not good Grunter, I would be spewing if mine red rings when looking forward to a game for so long.

They must've got word to sell it, just picked my collectors edition up, and it has a sticker on it warning them not to sell it before 23/10/09 otherwise it violates there agreement.

I think its $200,000 base fine + $10,000 per game and they get all new releases late from then on, DSE got hit with that in 2007.

Wow. I knew it was big several years ago but didn't realise it had grown to $200k.

To think these adults have chucked a tanty and pulled their pre-order and spat the dummy over a $100 game because the shop wasn't willing to risk a $200k+ fine.

I walked in to the game shop this morning to see if it was in yet, he said no not yet and if it is today he will call me. I said no worries will pick it up first thing in the morning and walked out. Got the call later on saying it was available, went and picked it up on my lunch break, another guy was there trying to buy the collectors edition which I think is pre-order only, they said they only have the normal ones and he flipped and walked out, the guy was in his late 30's. Moral of the story = Pre-order.

I picked up my copy last night at about 6pm, and played it for about an hour. Did the first couple of career events in a WS Fiesta Zetec S, then modded it to have 169kw, then punted the RS Focus round the Nurburgring.
I'm really impressed. Heaps of awsome new cars, graphics are on the cars, but also the scenery.
I like the in car view however its not as good as Project Gotham where you could look around in the car.
The thing is you can change the drive train in any car, so I was racing around a in a Fiat 500 Abarth… RWD. The game also features a rewind button so if you happen to prang your car or end up in the kitty litter you can rewind and correct your driving.
Heaps of fun, make sure you turn off the auto brake feature when you play.

My new toy.
Have loved the forza gams since the original back on the old black Xbox.
Great fun.
Pre - ordered the limited edition version from EB, and pick it up yesterday.
The V8's are great fun, very taily though.

Decided to add this to my key ring...

Awesome game :

Seems silly to have V8 Supercars and no Aussie tracks.

Digging it at the moment. Interface is slick and quick, something GT5 really needs to take a look at. Love the idea of being able to shoehorn different motors into smaller cars (stuck a 3.6l into my Scirocco ) and being able to change the drivetrain around.

I picked up the game today, and I love it. Yeah it's a shame there are no V8SC tracks, but atleast the V8s are represented. In Forza 1 there was a track based off Mount Panorama. Blue Mountains it was called.

I only have a couple of gripes with this game.

1) I think with the clutch the car should stall if you let it out too fast, or stalling if you don't hold it when coming to a stop. V8SC 2, and 3 had it, and it added another challenge.

2) Although it's not an enormous deal, but I think there should've been some shifting animations. I don't know, but it kind of takes away from the interior view. Like I said it's not a huge deal, but would've been a nice touch since GT5P, and NFS Shift have it.

Other than that brilliant game. I currently have a 09 G8 GXP which I plan on dropping in a LS7 from the Corvette Z06, and giving it two snails. Loving how you can stroke engines too.

Well so far I have just finished the first World Class event. My Fiesta is level C, I need upgrade the driveline components. It is proving difficult to handle atm. I am playing with easy opponents (I know weak), no driving line, no ABS, no Traction and Full Realistic Damage. Need to sell the 3 cars I have won and upgrade to something more beefy lol.

My right index finger is soooo sore.

So far up to about the 4th Championship event. Have a Fiesta, Focus RS and a Mustang - early on at least, I participated in a Focus only series and a Mustang only series. All aids off and AI on full. I'm a brute force kinda driver which proved taxing on my right finger with the Mustang. Upgrade power until I get to the max class and leave tyres/suspension/brakes alone. Rather hairy cresting a hill or coming out of the apex in a Mustang with cheese cutters. :P

On level 9 I think and just got a nice Maserati to add to my garage. GT5? Pfft. Who cares. :

I must say a FWD 377kw, 544nm torque, 941kg Fiesta is hard to handle. I spin all the way to 4th gear and understeer every corner. Might have to convert to AWD. I am the type of person who mods the **** out of the first car they get, and keep it the whole game. I will eventually upgrade when the time comes lol.
