I didn't vote, as neither option really applies.

If Ford stopped making the Falcon, I'd have no other Ford choice available to me (Mustang, GT), so would have to look elsewhere.

Focus/Fiesta/Mondeo don't interest me in the least, wrong wheel drive, tiny engines.
I'm not a tradie so don't need a Ranger
Not a soccer mum so don't need a SUV or 4x4.

Fan of the Aussie Fords and will always own one, will be a sad day when they aren't designed/built locally.
F trucks aside I generally prefer the GMs to Fords from the states.
As for the Euro stuff, maybe if I wore a skirt and carried a handbag.

I am a ford fan. I've owned a Mondeo, I've owned 2 focus. those are great cars. I have no preference to fwd or rwd, both are as good as each other. But I do prefer auto's over manual's, so my decision to move away from the Mondeo XR5 was mostly due to wanting to get away from a manual.

Ford fan first.
Only falcons i would purchase now would have to have a 6T and 2 doors, or be made between 1998-2002 so alas a little old
Having owned plenty of falcons, i have no need for one now and they do nothing for me. I can have more fun in my XR5T.

Huge fan of Euro Fords Sierras, Escorts (Old and new), Fiestas (Old and new), and Focus.
Unfortunately my XR5 may be my last Ford.

Re your experience with FWD Fords, have they been just as reliable, same servicing/spare parts costs.....? Very important question Ford needs to address if they go FWD in large cars also.

Without starting World War 3.
I have only had one warranty issue (touch wood) and that was a failed Sony CD stacker.
I get the occasional creak from my rear sway bar coming loose (Aftermarket).
It has only been serviced at Ford once, rest elsewhere. Last full service 45k was $280~, it also gets 7500km oil changes too only because it is modded.
So all in all im very happy with my Euro FWD fridge.

I too have a XR5, have had it for 5 years this month.
So far the only reliability issue I have had is the poor quality sony stereo dying on me twice and some diaphragm splitting (fixed under a recall).
Other than that no squeaks or rattles.
Servicing done at dealer and ranges from 270 - 800 (last major service).

The car is un modded and still brings a smile to the face when I drive it.
I have no need for another car, this ticks all the right boxes.
My next car probably won't be a Ford though but when that times comes I'll see what is available from all makes.

Can we have another option saying RWD Ford = Mustang!

Thats the only car I'd buy other than a Falcon!

So far 1 in 4 voters are for the Falcon. Which in theory means Ford sales may not drop that much once the Falcon dies.

I don't really give a flying excrement about the Falcon or Territory, I particularly like Ford Europe's offerings, like the Fiesta, Focus and the Mondeo.

I don't like the B series and onwards Falcons, if I was to own a different Falcon instead of my EL project car, it would be a T3 TS50, as I'm keen on the AU Fairlanes and T series cars.

The only reason I have an EL Fairmont Ghia as a project car is that I was looking for a car to muck around on, and the EL came up cheap and convenient.

I also like Ford USA, F series mainly.

Neither option applies, if Falcon/Territory wasn't made I would still include other Fords in my purchase list, it's just that they would be measured closely against what else is in the market. Perhaps the poll should be modded to 'Falcon fan - if they didn't make the Falcon I'd consider everything else on its merits'?

That said, big Falcon fan here, particularly like XW-Y, XA; EBII ED XG, AU, Territory.

well this is true, dear old dad had a 48 ford and 55 cusso among others, but you`d have to say it was the falcon that really put ford on the ozzy map , and the bathurst models, really upped the ante.

I own 2 falcons and a mustang and I found it surprising that many people are only limited to the falcon.
Ford has made so many great cars in its history.

As a kid growing up in the 70's and 80's the early muscle car era you where either a ford or Holden person. Bathurst 1000 was the platform to be a Falcon fan...

As a kid growing up in 80's and 90's I was and still are a Holden fan (looks over shoulder ). Watching Brock dominate, my love of anything with HDT badge and watching Perkins with his Aussie 5.0L was sheer bliss. Then the early 90's roll on and all I wanted was a HSV (SV5000 )
That said I love many a Falcon (XB & XD-XF) and many other Aussie cars such as Skylines, 3rd gen Magnas. I love the current VE, its just that FG is better
