From what I have heard the work at Logan Village is a class above many others. If I remember correctly he does a lot of the major repair work for 888 and SBR. I bet it was through contacts that Eric has in racing circles that contact was made with LVS.

Good to see the beast is alive, it could not be left on one DVD, there has to be a sequel, perhaps another trip to Targa Tas? I wonder if Daryl will get a look in?

All I can say is thank god its fixed - losing too much history with cars & accidents - the coupe was the nicest ever produced - there is one up here in Bundy wrecked / straight - but so full of rust I don't think it would be fixable. So sad to see it end up that way - such a waste..

Yes, Logan Village are a class act! They do repair work for most of the the V8 Supercar teams that are/have been based in QLD (They have bonnets scattered throughout the workshop, including a CAT Racing bonnet). Rob at Logan Village was the only guy willing to stake everything on repairing the car, and was the only guy willing to say it could be repaired if Bana was willing to pay for it.

Love the beast was one of the best movies I have seen in ages. It really made me respect Bana... you can get all the fame and money in the world, but it's not worth anything if you're not true to yourself and you don't ahve passion for something.

In other news, that car is pure porn.

So pleased to see it repaired. Props to Rob at Logan Village!

What I also like is how EVERYONE loves this car now. I mean, Bana made a decent movie about his love affair with it, millions watched it, and fell in love with it too. Doesn't matter where you're from or what you drive, that car's got something special going on. We all love it, and we all love Bana for gritting his teeth and fixed it up.

Here's hoping you don't bend it again, Eric!

Yeah. Leaf springs and SRA on car with 600hp. All so he could enter a certain class in the event.

If he's rebuilding it now... he should put IRS in the thing. Sorry if purists get annoyed at that. But such a car deserves such advancements.

Hope we see this baby at the Hardtop Anniversary 2011 in Echuca, that thing, would really attract attention! p.s. 600+HP on leaf springs? Nothing wrong with that! Mine does the same, makes for some white knuckle driving and puts some hairs on your chest!

Cart springs with Watts link etc etc...
The car not Leanne...

I always knew it would be back, and always scoffed at the claims it was "unrepairable"...someone here even said that they were the only panel beaters who said it could be fixed.

Hell, the people saying it couldn't be done must have had nothing to do with the vintage and classic car world...anyone who's spent any time at all around that crowd will know they look at a twisted, rusted, incomplete pile of parts found in the bush somewhere on a trailer and shrug and say "give us a year or two and it'll be concourse".

To one of those experts, Bana's car would have been a walk in the park...and it's a little sad to think there must be a lot of panel beaters who think a crash damaged car is automatically a write off. It takes time and money...something Eric would have plenty of...but anything is possible.

Sadly, a lot of panel shops today a geared for quick turnarounds so they only remove and replace the panels damaged, not repair. The art of restoring a wreck is becoming too expensive for the average joe to afford and insurance companies are even faster to write a car off, so that experience in rebuilding panels is slowy eroding away. There aren't too many shops these days that even have tools like an english wheel to form panels, let alone lead wipe. Eric's coupe is an example of some of the work top line panel shops can do, and an example of the cost involved.

I was the one who said Logan Village were the only ones to say the car was repairable. I got that out of the owners mouth. Rob, the owner, is an extremely talented, traditional panelbeater.

It's good to see another coupe repaired from such a bad state - but especially this one. I remember Eric on "Today Tonight" when he was back with the Comedy Company showing off the coupe when it was white - explaining how he had it since he was 16 and it was the roughest coupe shell he had ever seen. He proceeded to tell the obviously clueless reporter that it was a 351 with 4V heads, top loader gearbox and a 9" with 3.5 gears. "Whats all that mean?" she said....
The next shot showed it launching - wheels spinning - into a 60km/hr doughnut. Brought a tear to my eye as a true coupe fanatic...
To see it rebuilt is exceptional
