If I fry a potato in queensland, and noone sees it, and noone hears it, was it actually fried?

I say pluto pup because

1. Dagwood is harder to say.
2. Everyone else says dagwood dog.
3. Wtf is a dagwood dog.
4. Pluto pup sounds cooler.

I believe it comes down to technique and oil temperature in this case. And when was the last time the fryer was oilchanged. In any case though, you will see it. Or hear it. The inherrant problem is, you will have to fry it whilest in a blindfolded climate controlled spacesuit, then turn and run like the wind.

1: A cake is made from batter, ie. potato cake is made from batter, not coated in it.
2. A Pluto Pup is the off-spring of a certain well known cartoon character.

Correct.
The term "dagwood", relates to the technical name of the wooden skewer that in inserted into the gazelle ИИИИИ for serving purposes. "Dog" relates to fact that said item looks like a small Daschound when cooked.
These where first known as "Dagwood served Battered Gazelle ИИИИИes", but where later shortened by an enterprising fellow to Dagwood Dogs after his niece noticed the resemblance to the family pet. The name "Pluto Pup" arose through a trademark dispute and to cash in on a popular cartoon at the time.

Ok thats it guys....my parents owned a fish and chips shop for 8 years...I was just about brought up on this stuff, and I cooked so much I didn't eat any of it for 2 years after we sold the place.

Definitions:
A potato cake is a big potato that is cut thickly with a cold meat slicer, then lightly battered and fried

A Potoato Fritter is a potato that has been grated, mix with what ever you want and cooked on a grill/stove top

A Scollop is from the bloody sea, and has a orange/white dangley bit which is eatable. Scollops cost alot more than potato cakes.

i hope that clears things up!

i think this has been done to death now. just accept that we call em scallops and have done since the dawn of time or a few dozen years ago. we will never call them cakes and everytime i eat seafood in sydney i get sick so i feel we have the highground on seafood naming rights.

That's right - pretty smart people those Asian cooks. Last story I heard of a European suggesting how they can do better was a food inspector in Hong Kong who objected to the Chinese practice of inflating ducks by putting your mouth on the open end (for want of a better description) and blowing, so they let him suggest a better way. So this food inspector puts the duck under his arm, gets the hose from the reverse end of a vacuum cleaner, puts it in the duck, turns it on and....the duck inflates in one microsecond, then explodes, spreading the duck and the inspector's uniform all over the inside of the restaurant.

All of this can be discovered in one big QLD cruise!!!

We will travel to different parts of QLD to find the best potato cake/scallop and to see whether anyone in QLD is retarded enough to call them fritters!

Maybe we will find ourselves and the meaning of life...

Maybe i'll start www.friedpotato.com.au and review the best potato scallops/cakes all over Australia.

Maybe I'll go back to work..

Who knows!!

Vote 1 Cruising for potatos! There are some pretty good cooked potatos here in the burra. Everyone should cruise up to Maryborough and buy some fried potato in it's many forms from Sandy's fish n chips. Fantastic fat coated potato. hmmm... I might get some tonight.

Well I hate seafood, so imagine my surprise when i ordered potato scollops and got a stinky fish thing. Obviously they thought this mean stinky battered fish. I should have said Potato cakes.
