FFS some of you guys are genuine tossers.

OK, Beetus is not the best in grammar but its pretty obvious that he traded a shitbox for what he considered to be a better car and who hasn't done that. It also looks the part and WTF is wrong with an XR8 anyway.

He asked a simple question knowing its an XR8 and given RAC's comment to him it was a legitimate question to ask if there was an XR8 with a GT bodykit option.

Simple question with a simple answer, yet some of you think its more fun to deride him and need to get a life.

If it turned out to be a tarted up Taxi, who cares as long as Bettus is happy with his deal.

PS. Hmmm Beetus posted his pics at the same time. Seems its not a "Taxi" and well done mate, you got a great deal.

sadly, you've only got an XR8, but hey, you've got a black EB XR8 with the GT kit and wheels

aftermarket GT kits and wheels are pretty common

EB GT are idetified by the build number on the passenger door, and the tickford plate in the engine bay with the build number on it plus additional information. They also were sold with keyrings, each custom made with the build number on it. Yes, I use to own one of these in the late 90's. In addition, the engine has a special cover with "GT" on it. The bolts where black. I remember I required one in 96, and Ford could NOT provide the parts. Replacement bolts where silver in color only. Hope this helps, also check out http://www.gtfacts.asn.au/

XR8's and XR8 Sprints had optional body kits, but not the "GT" variety. The car seems to be a stock XR8 with a GT body kit, and a bad one at that (meaning incomplete). I would suggest completing the kit for a proper replica. Looking at it, not much to go.

Hope this helps.

Nice looking car mate. Those wheels in their day were worth about 4 grand the set or thereabouts being original EB GT.

Just polish it up and away you go.

A bit rare to get a black manual EB - especially with a V8. Nice find!

But wasn't the XR6 the only one with those lucrative letters in the EB range? And that was series two...

ED got XR8 sure, and great looking quad lights.

And not nitpicking Beetus, but you did say you looked at all the pictures in the gallery/brochure scan area and it looked identical - dude while the wing, rear bumper and hood look good, one of the most obvious EB GT features are the sculptured guard flares - which that fake kit clearly doesn't have. That and the unique grille which almost makes the bumper into a nosecone.
