mmmmm very interesting topic . we all like to think we live somewhere for the posiyion and area .
a friend told me once that we live in our houses , and anywhere can be home if you are happy. i have since moved a few times and i gotta say he was quite right .
saying that i'm sure some areas are worse than others , for differant types of people.

when you fly over sydney . just as many houses on the coast have pools as 50 km's out west . ever wondered WHY ??? and next time look nand see how many pools have people in them . go on , i dare you.

Brisbane, grew up here and the Sunshine Coast but had to move back here for Uni. My wife works here to, but we're looking at buying acerage out west of Brisbane in the not to distant future to get back to some peace and quiet

Will never ever leave Queensland. Couldn't bare the thought of my kids (when we have them) not being Queenslanders ;)

Hehehehe... Thats fine buddy, Adelaide's best left like that! Then it won't
suffer the degeneration other cities finish up with. For me its 300 metres
to the sea, 400 metres to the hills, panoramic sea & city views. That's all I want.

We live 50 Ks north of Canberra in a small town, being in the IT industry means being near a capital City so this is a good compromise. We were able to buy a house on an 8000sq mt block built in 1860 and now we can spend the rest of our lives fixing it up. Being brought up in the bush has made me allergic to living in big towns, even Canberra.

Tote
