If you read the book it says that that car is OK to run on 91. I tried 1 tank load and will never put 91 in again. 95 or higher from now on.
Just out of curiosity, what fuel does everyone put in their cars? I usually put the 95 Vortex from Caltex in or the Shell 95 (someone told me that Shell adds a stack of things to their fuel and you shouldn't use it but I've had no problems in this car or others I've had). |

I have also brought it up with service many times, they says the same to me as they said to black. I told them I only run premium and 98ron. they told me it seems to be a problem with most focus. No answer on rectifying it.

also does the pinging happen after the engines have warmed up and are hot, or straight away....if its a hot engine issue cant wait for summer for you guys :gren: ....and if its a hot engine issue maybe you all need to look at how to get some more air through the font to the engine bay?? One of my oder cars used to ping but only after driving for a while and at full acceleration, improvised a cold air dish at the front to help with engine air cooling and re-tuned and the pinging went, I also had to go to 95 Octane fuel as it was a pre-unleaded car...(not that being pre-unleaded is of any comparison here).
