But when compare the amount of incidents to the amount of flying hours done by Intruders, Prowlers, and now Corsairs you're adding to the mix, they are very very uncommon, perhaps a handful of events over 30 years of flying there. There are far many more saftey related incidents that happen, but are not registered or as spectacular. Anyone would hope that any safety related issues are never commonplace. Many more people have walked into turning propellers or rotors, for example. But even then, it's not common.

People dying in car crashes - now THAT is common. Happens every day.

As for vortex generators, fair enough if you haven't seen any you'd think would catch on any clothing. Coming from someone who goes up intakes all the time, I'll add my opinion that they do a very good job.
