The guy with the fascia has relisted it. He tells me its a new item, but its under relisted.

Same as something else I bid on. Its also been relisted. I suspect these people are bumping up the bids through dummy accounts, and when they don't go for what they want, they are relisting them. If they gave the 2nd chance draw, it might seem all above board.

Of course it happens all the time dummy bids etc.

The trick is bid only half what its worth to you. Then if you really want it auction snipe it at the last second for the price you could afford to lose on the item. remembering if the history isn't good you could lose everything!

If it ****es you off email the support at ebay they do check things and get rid of the total cheats.
