I would love to go on a Tour of the Bowden's museum. All those great historic cars on display.

I thought the same thing.... Scary. Although I have never heard of one coming down. BTW, your avatar has a strange effect on me.....
When I was working at my last job we used to get our cars serviced at a dealer in Gosford. There was a hoist that malfunctioned there and crushed a car that was under it.

And I wouldnt go as far to say without the bowdens these cars would be rusty heaps as im sure somebody would have saved them. But it is a great collection.

There are 4 phase 4's in total.
3 Brambles Red Race Prototypes, plated as normal GT's with a few dotts after the GT lettres...
1 Calypso Green plated GTHO Sedan, was loaded up with a bunch of options. Has been fully restored and is kept hidden away by a very private owner.
The car that was destroyed was Bruce Hodgsons then ex rally car.
The other 2 red cars are alive and well, the Bowden car has all the race stuff all over the outside as per 1972. The third car is owned by Paul Carthew, and has travelled only about 4000 miles.

When the Bowden Phase 4 was shown on those DVD's, it was then owned by Rod Mann on the Gold Coast, he had the car without all the race stuff all over the outside, and the tell tale Rodd Mann silver only XA grille.

Donny

P.S. I would swap around the Cobra and Phase 4 on the hoist, I know which I would rather survive on top.....Specially value wise..

I had an awesome day as did many others looking at these wonderful race/road cars but what was more enjoyable was listening to the history of each one, from its construction, race history and then its ownership history. Dan and Chris Bowden spoke non stop for three hours on each and every car on display today and the passion they show for these cars is admirable.

btw I was just out of earshot when they discussed the car on the hoist but I’m pretty sure they said it is an xb gt coupe race car mocked up to look like a cobra, one of the last xb coupes to come off the line. Someone else maybe able to clarify this.

I've got a photo in an old magazine dedicated to the history of Falcon GTs. I don't have a scanner so I have to take a photo of a photo. I could probably do it tomorrow, but I can't now because it's too dark. It's basically a photo of the rear of the car, back when it was sitting at a dealership, before the Sydney dentist bought it.

This is the last known photo's taken in the 80's of it before it was restored. The current owner is very private about it and won't even let photo's be taken (selfish if you ask me).

It is know apparently back to it original colour.

This is another one taken at a different date.

Unbelievable to think it was on sale in a car yard. Does anyone know how much it was bought for, and was the price pushed way high because of what it is. I'd imagine its probably gone 1000x higher now than what it was bought for.
