Default XR5T In short Supply

Also tell him GTI's are buckets of rusty/squeeky bolts now.

I toyed with one the other day, had exhaust, intake (was roaring) lowered, and wheels. It couldnt keep up.

They might have been o.k back in their day (apparently great in the twisties !!!!)

But now.. there old.. rusty... squeeky...falling to pieces...ugly.... unreliable....squeeky....rusty...old....ugly!!!

Also, if you ever modify them and actually get power outa them then the gearbox just WONT take it. They blow more boxes than a porn star shags

Firstly, as we have said previously, the Focus is a much quicker car then the GTI, especially doing a rolling start!

Mate - get your facts right. The XR5T is built in Germany; the others are from South Africa. This is a thread about the XR5T though.

Oh, and the Engine is from Volvo, not Audi. The XR5T is nothing like the F6. Not even fair to compare the XR6T to the F6. Two completely different vehicles.

And, do a search - some have already posted up their thoughts of the car.

And yes, the front seats are great - the car is made for handling, so you better hope the seats hold you in!

But, your car has way less than half the power, and less than a 3rd of the torque. Look, it really is a hopeless cause.... so i would give up.... you need to get back to washing cars... because if you wash enough then you might have a chance of driving a real car one day....

No, its not even that... we can appreciate good quality cars from some japanese/euro companies. BUT, we dont like it when he comes in here sprouting off that the XR5T is slow... May feel slow, coz its a linear power delivery... but one look at the speedo & the stop watch will have you knowing otherwise.

Hahaha Swifty. You owned yourself! 15.6 quarter mile? Almost CERTAINLY the XR5T will kill it.

A XR5T owner got 15.119 @ 93.73 at Calder Park... with only 1000kms on it! And I have proof.

Mate, your Swift gets KILLED. Even my RenaultSport Clio kills you.

Please, move on. You've done so many mods to your car, and still can't get an XR5T. All you've done is put a fart can on a buzz box. :

mods, not big mods. i spose i will put a turbo on my then i will run the xr5 then it will be more fair then turbo against turbo. my car is 19 years old dont forget, look the xr5 is a very nice car to drive handles well looks great inside i was just not happy with the power thought it would have more of a punch but as old mate said b4 its linear power curve just used of the power of the F6 and xr6t how the power comes on, so when mine is turboed in the next 2-3 months then ill run the xr5 to make it fair (turbo against turbo)but as i said very nice car the drive, crap turning circle but it does have 18inches under it ok peace out oh and i work in the pre-delivery department not a car washer

How is it fair. Turbo vs Turbo - but not weight vs weight.

Dude, please. Just stop.

Pre-delivery... so that explains all the faults that get passed!

In all honesty... I don't think the XR5T is selling to Swift GTi drivers...

It is more for the style conscious. A car that is built well, drives great (effortless power... that you don't even know your speeding), handles and most of all... looks great (esp in orange) parked in Double Bay, or in Paddington on Oxford St with all the other crop of expensive machinery.

Come on guys, I think the point has been made, swifty was disappointed the car wasn't faster - his opinion

Saw one in orange at Winton last weekend, they certainly have a presence to them.
