Those opel things they tried to pass off as Holdens.
I wouldn't have seen more than 10 since they first came out. |

Even more modern Falcons are becoming rare on the roads these days...
FG G6, G6 Turbos, FG XR6 and XR6T's and rarely do I see any FGX's anymore. Seems like everyone is ditching them for utes and SUV's. |

Talking about Sigma’s, I haven’t seen a Chrysler or Mitsubishi Scorpion for some time.

Actually was just thinking the other day you don't see too many B series falcons on the road anymore compared to 10 years ago....The ones you do see look worse for wear.

I reckon in 15 years time if you have a mint one of those that's unmolested it's going to be worth bulk spondoolies. It's effectively the Millennial R32 Nissan GTR |

Toyota Crowns and they made the ute's as well.
I only remember one colour of the 1972-3 Crowns baby poo yellow orange type of colour. they painted the bumper bars as well, I am sure chrome bars would of looked much better on them. |

There was an AC Cobra kit that used the chassis as a base so there might well be a few still out there hiding under fibreglass bodies. My mates old man had one, he used to let said mate back it up and down the driveway, he swung too hard one day and flattened the brick letter box. His old man righted the letterbox with a chain and the tow bar, then with a few well placed mallet strikes popped the front guard back out. They don't make them like that anymore... the car and his father...

Most of these gone missing in (in)action are really not surprising, the majority of them would be 15 -20 years old. 20 years ago our fathers would have been saying the same thing, dang havent seen any ?? for a long time.
Then again how many of us have the same friends mates we had 20 years ago.

I saw a first model Magna wagon today and to top that, I saw a Sangyong Stavic, the sexiest vehicle ever to grace our roads. (There were never many of them in the first place, but I can't understand why.)

That’s a widebody too... great cars. I’ve owned a few narrow body ones over the years and considering the age of them they were a really good car. Not many other cars in 82/83 and the tech and sophistication the starion did. The jdm galant/sigma was basically a four door starion, was a great sleeper back in the day. |

On BA and AU Falcons ...We still have several around locally . There are more AU's though . At work there are three , mine is one of them . Can't recall the last time I saw an eighties Nissan/Datsun . They used to be everywhere ..Same with Ford Escorts , Cortina's , Holden Torana's and Gemini's . Even early VB, VC and VK Commodores are pretty rare these days I'd say . Like everybody else ...Inundated by SUV's .... |

Interestingly you see hardly any ever around Melbourne.
I could count on one hand the amount of Valiants I've seen on the roads in Melbourne on one hand since I've had my license. Yet when I went to Adelaide there seemed to be more oldskool cars out and about and especially Valiants. It would be interesting to see vehicle on road data divided by state looking at Valiants. |
