I will say I watched a bit more when Schumacher at his best.

Benetton from memory to start with (could be wrong), not sure what happened to them. Ferrari championships.

Sad about Michael though : (

I used to play footy (Aussie Rules speak here) "as all guys did") being Tassie Rugby no side, and Soccer "just or softies" - but I'd have much rather be in Karting as a youngster.

Ah well.....

Hi, yes it used to be The United colors of Benetton.
Multi coloured cars look great!
The Tyrell team sold to Renault.

Lost interest when the cosworth v8 stopped being a potential winner and interest totally disappeared about 8 years ago. Even supercars has started to bore me the last year or too as there seems to be too much manipulation of results and the cars are losing more and more manufacturer dna.

I think it's too stupid to relate to.

As in brilliantly fast but to watch?

Cars look silly.

No likable driver's (outside Dan)

Big F1 fan. Ferrari fan also although I'm not warming to some of the newer younger drivers as they seem to lack character but everyone and everything is sensored these days.
I don't even get nostalgic about previous eras. Every era is different. I don't always like each era from the get go but the more i watch the more it the more it grows on me. Love the hybrids now. Sure the sound isn't there but they are stupidly fast again. I like technology too so the complexity of the current cars I find fascinating.

The Lauda, Mansell, Piquet, Prost era was the best, I remember Senna and Keke Rosberg coming into it and upsetting the applecart. Both were loose cannons at first.

Those JPS black rockets were beautiful machines.

You can't say that one era was any "better" than any other. It might have had more interest for some, but not others.

I used to enjoy the the pre-Cosworth era, Brabham, Hulme, Clarke, Stewart etc. etc. This was before the much of the safety gear was introduced. These guys must have been fearless. Having said that there has been other eras since which were also worth watching.

Bit dull ATM though.

Jumping on the Drive to survive bandwagon here. I stopped watching F1 when Alain Prost, Ayrton Senna, etc stopped racing. The drive to survive show was good viewing.

Very much so. I've been a (Williams) F1 fan since 1994. It's the only motorsport that I follow religiously.

As a Williams fan, there hasn't been much to cheer about lately, but I will still be a Williams fan no matter what happens. I will still watch every practice session, every qualifying session and every race. I'm confident that their fortunes will change soon.

What exactly is "Williams?"

I could do research but rather hear from a fan than some Google clown

One of the most respected teams in FI, the team and Frank (Williams) have been around for some time now....

Williams is one of the world’s leading Formula 1 teams. It exists purely to race in the top echelon of motor racing, where it has been winning grands prix for more than three decades. The Williams name has been synonymous with top-level motorsport since the 1960s.

After running teams on the sport’s nursery slopes, team patron Frank Williams founded Frank Williams Racing Cars in 1966 and entered F1 in 1969 with his friend Piers Courage behind the wheel. Frank quickly earned a reputation as one of the industry's more determined individuals and, after selling his controlling interest in his original team, he established Williams Grand Prix Engineering with British engineer Patrick Head in 1977. . They built their first car, the FW06, the following year and the team immediately went from strength-to-strength.

Williams has since won 16 FIA Formula One World Championship titles, nine for constructors and seven for drivers, and is the third most successful team on the grid.

I used to follow F1 when it was much more simple.

I signed up to a heap of “Team“ stuff when Eddie Irvine was with Jaguar.

The current series is all about “robots driving robots” IMO.

So you are referring to the 2000-2002 seasons. When.. traction control was illegally used (2000), but was then made legal (2001) because F1 couldn't police it properly. When fully automatic transmissions were being used with almost no input from the driver. When launch control was being illegally used (2000-2001), but then made legal 5 races into the season (2001).

Hi MercuryT
Although I've agreed with you up to now, I come from above the Mexican border and football is called league and AFL is called PICK UP THE HANKY. Hahaha, don't get offended! It's a state versus state joke!
Not interested in T20 big bash!

I'm sending this from Orange hospital. Went over the handlebars yesterday, broke six ribs on left, and three flail ribs on the right, collarbone and punctured a lung! Just had a pain block drugs with a cathada? in my back and feeling much better.
And don't say I deserve it for that joke!

Cheers Phil.

No I was a fan when cars could pass other cars, because they were driven by drivers.

Disregard the Jaguar crap.

The current system is rubbish 👎

Nah, it's great to see the younger drivers that seem to be able to overtake sometimes. Strategy calls (being on better rubber near the end), or tech problems maybe for others?
But I think last season was OK due to the new younger drivers bringing in fresh air. If you forget merc and look at the midfield there's a lot more movement. E: shame the cameras miss that sometimes because they're following the sunday drive to win by Ham or the latest ferrari debacle.

I used to watch V8s but there's hardly more overtaking in that series (when there is it's often contact and they have to redress)
