yay, duminy goone!! boucher is the last hurdle. the bowlers can bat but you wouldn't put your house on them. boucher hasn't been in good touch.

this reminds me of sydney but at least this time smith isn't still to come.

aussies win by 162 runs. what an awesome effort by a team that was all but written off, and given no chance at coming close to retaining the no.1 tag. by my reckoning they only have to draw one of the next 2 to retain it.

i wonder if RSA went into the match a little too confident. they didn't thrash us over here. every match could've gone either way on the 5th day, but they did win the series so maybe they thought, being a home series, they would just walk out on the park and it would all just happen for them.

seems the referrals dried up in the 2nd innings too. maybe thats because australia finally get to play a test with the worlds best umpire standing in - mr s.taufel.

there is a long way to go, but in my opinion the pressure was and is all on south africa, this time around
they came over here finally believing that they could win and they obviously did. their problem is they have to do it all over again and considering it took around 16 years to do it once, twice in 4 months is a big ask

Congrat's too the Aussies, great win.

A run feast test that just finished in a draw was between England - 6/600 & 2/279 v West Indies 9/749. Sounds like the pitch had alot in it for the bowlers

More and more pitches in the world are beginning to become like this.

Also Johnson received the Player of the match award.

yep, sri lanka and pakistan are playing on the same sort of decks. lots of runs but no results.

need more curators like adelaide's les burdett. very rarely is there no result at adelaide oval and yet it usually produces a reasonably scoring match.

Not looking good for Siddle and Hilfenhaus. Just what we need for the start tomorrow, not!

great news. hotspot now available for the referrals. of all the technologies, i think this one has real merit, esp on lbw decisions.

these 2 sides are creating some real history here. i wonder when the last time 2 teams were so closely matched, played in 4 consecutive tests so far and all 4 have gone into the 5th day with 3 results still possible. my memory is fading but i think all of them have gone past tea on the 5th day too, if not definitely past lunch.

the seesawing nature of every test is fascinating. one team looks to be having a walk in the park and then suddenly it swings right around.

best test series since 05 ashes tour for mine.

2/1

Great Start, but Fox Sports have the score board the wrong way around.

I can't work out if you are being sarcastic or not.

Smith's retired hurt. Right Pinkie!

Edit: Johnson's found some form. It's great to see. That was two fantastic overs from M. Johnson.

You and me both on the sarcastic bit.

The ABC Feed is probably better than the Fox feed. Mark Nicholas makes me want to reach through the screen and strangle him. How he became the Channel 9 Commentary Team Captain I'll never know.

Faark, Johnson has found some Form.

Brett Lee can sink into a nice retirement now.

i'm watching a second rate stream through cricshow.com or justin.tv

any better feeds?

if the other games are anything to go by there is a few twists and turns to come yet. even if we skittle them for not much in the first innings the second is often the reverse. hopefully this time we can nail them. i believe, as was mentioned earlier, the pressure is well and truly on RSA this tour. took them years to finally conquer the aussies and now they have to try to back up only months later.

i'd rather lee in the side for hilfenhaus or mcdonald. clark would have to come back in which is not real fair on siddle, who's done nothing wrong and can look a lot more dangerous than clark at times. johnson, clark, lee and siddle would be a good attack.

it is amazing - in just over 3 sessions, there was 4/329 scored
not long after 9 wickets were taken for 29 plus a retired hurt - in fact 8/10 at one stage
no doubt there will be many more twists and turns
