If you mean under bonnet then you can use a low mount manifold and a heat shield, most people wouldnt be able to pick the turbo on the BAs if they didnt have badges on them. Paint the cooler and piping black and have a plumb back BOV and i doubt the average copper would be able to pick it for what it is.

I take it you mean like a Vortech or Powerdyne or soemthing? You wont get much low down torque with a centrifugal supercharger, boost is relative to revs with them.
A turbo will give you boost throughout the rev range since a 4.0litre will give plenty of exhaust flow.

Disregard that if ur talking about a PD blower.

0-100 in 6 seconds... is a low 15/high 14... which isn't bad for a street car.... especially a 6cylinder wagon, sounds like sleeper status to me will beat a few v8s etc. not everyone has 11second turbo cars :P

You may have an 11 second car mate but I would run you 0-100 without any remorse or second thought. Get the gtech on to it and let us know what you do eh?

I run the 0-100 in like 4 seconds. I dont like your chances.

Dont get me started on the gtech debate either.

Anyways I wasnt talking about my car.

A sleeper has to be fast, a 15 second car isnt fast anymore.

It may be compared to falcons and commodores but there are other cars out there.

Where did you get 4 seconds mate? The gtech is brilliant for 0-100.15 seconds isnt fast any more.
What do you think is fast?
I will be doing 0-100 in 5 second bracket very very soon. Then my sight will be on 4 s na Real 4s not calculators.

Well Ihate to burst your bubble mate but my research with a gtech going down a real 1/4 mile showed a differnce of .4 to .5 seconds slower. to real life. These runs were done by a guy in the old forum in his car at the track with a real 1/4 mile!!0-100 is right!!

I dont know Dan, you are not your usual self tonight .I sincerely hope all is well on your sideand all is ok..

Im with dan here. There is more to a sleeper than a mild engine in an externally stock car.

HA!
i've seen plenty of g-tech's go the other way.
if your cars so quick to 100, just go and do the 1/8th mile.
then compare to everyone else.
GTECHS ARE NOT REAL PERFORMANCE TIMES.

am I the only one that doesn't give a hoot about 0-100m times... RUN the WHOLE 1/4 mile and you will actually have a time that is comparatable to the rest of the world, not just a wheels magazine :(

And I agree with Dan about 15 seconds not being fast.. In our little communtity it might be but head out to the track and see what all the others cars are doing. For example the "Quick Eliminator" bracket at Willowbank Street Series has more entries than "Hot Street".. Quick Elim is 11.50-12.99, that is where most of the quick street cars dial in..

Nothing wrong with me but a sleeper is a fast car. Not a moderately quick one for what it is.

BTW I used that calculator that uses real drag times a second ago and it figures that I do 0-100 in 3.09 seconds.

There was a real sleeper at one of our dyno days, it was an old cortina painted in lemon with a white roof and had 300rwkw.

There is another one around my area, its a sigma wagon running 200hp shot of nitrous.

I would say you car is fast for what it is but it isnt a sleeper. A sleeper is something that can beat a fast car (sub 14 IMO) and look like crap.

But like everything the term is subject to everyone's opinions and no-ones will be the same.

When I was at AIR last there was some little 80's hatch back - completely stock looking, 13" stock rims, stock exhaust. I was laughing until he pulled a low 13 pass. I have seen 351C's in cortinas and from the outside there is no way you could tell it was anything other than a 4 banger. These are *real* sleepers.

Its unfortunate but its the way things are these days. All the kids getting around in their 10-15 year old turbo cars are running high 13's with ease.

The Gen 3 and new BA's are another example. They are in the 13's with very little mods.

Usless i see a lot of G-Tech talk in your posts, why don't you run the quater like people mention ? whether the G-Tech is proven right or wrong, you will know exactly what you're car is capable of, are your scared the car is not as fast as you claim ?
If not just do it and end the debate.

all this talk about sleepers .
well i reckon i'd have to back useless on this one.everyone knows the old au wagon is good for high 8's to 9's 0 to 100 kmph.you can't tell me that if you pulled up along side it thinking it was another family hack and this guys just blasted it catching you by suprise ,it would take a bit of catchin up to .
the qter mile isn't everything if someone catches you lagging at the lights its all over before it's starts .
