Ford fan here. I love older Fords.
I like the Falcon, but looking at a large sedan I ended up buying elsewhere. Either way I would definitely consider an Explorer, F truck, Ranger, Mustang. For the missus I would try to get her to buy Focus or maybe Fiesta.

I'm looking at buying a 4x4 late this year or early next year, I will be looking at Ford before Toyota & Nissan

I'm a Ford fan, first and foremost.

Despite the Falcon and its derivatives being designed in Australia and the european Fords being designed in Germany, they both aim for the same target: a sensible car that's great to drive. If somebody I know needs a car in a particular segment, I would not hesitate in recommending the Ford product over that of competing manufacturers.
That being said, I am a fan of vehicles from other manufacturers (such as BMW, who follow a similar philosophy to Ford). Admittedly, I would also never touch a vehicle from some manufacturers (such as Holden and Mercedes, both of whom deliver appalling products relative to their main competitor).

However, my interest in Fords started with the Falcon (when it comes to modern vehicles, specifically the AU). Strangely enough, when it comes to the classics, I'm only a fan of Australian and European Fords; American Fords don't really do it for me.

If the Falcon is replaced by a locally assembled (?) FWD, they had better do it knowing that Toyota reliability (boring or not) is the gorilla in a very small room, without that, goodbye Ford!

On topic: The Falcon sparked my interest in Ford, and it just grew from there.
Not sure what category that would put it in.

I am a ford fan... i like all types of ford products. In the past it would be falcon or nothing. Now things have changed, where i appreciate all cars on their merits. Fast / slow / cheap / expensive / sports / luxury.

When making a decision on a car, first thing i work out what i need from it, then see what the market has to
Meet my needs, if it has a ford badge, awesome...but if it doesn't i wont say no just because of the badge (unless it has a holden badge, i will not own a holden, lol!)

I have ordered my next car (2013 chysler 300c luxury), the reason i have not gone a ford, is that ford australia doesn't have a car at the moment that fit my needs. Sayin that my fiance' next car which will be our round about will be a fiesta, so there will still be a ford in our garage.

And we will be lookin at gettin a old school mustang as a project car soon as well. So i am ford fan 100%, i just can't be 1 eyed and buy a car just because it has a ford badge.

If I was to be honest, I would have to admit that I am an aussie made Falcon fan foremost.
If an aussie made Falcon wasnt available I would actually consider any of the other local brand offerings before an imported Ford.

Ford fan here, I've had old Falcons, newer ones, Telstars, Lasers, but I LOVE my Sierra!

I even enjoyed driving the old 1980 Transit work van years ago

I enjoyed reading a biography of Henry Ford, which reinforced my passion for Ford!

Ford fan here, for the money Ford has every new car buyer covered with competitive vehicles that are always near or top of class. Ford's motorsport pedigree worldwide over the years is second to none also! While im a massive fan of Falcons i know i wouldnt be too crazy about a fwd Falcon- Falcons are a drivers car not a nannies car, thats how Falcon made its name!

cheers, Maka

Youd be trying very very hard to convince me that theres a better 4x4 out there than nissan or toyota
Sure some newies mite win awards, and have great power on paper, but time will tell how good they are
Nissan and toyota have the runs on the board in decent off road gear, and if nissan pull there head in and offer a factory V8 turbo diesel in a dual cab like toyota do in the cruiser,id be there,if money allows
Will watch in earnest what the new dual cab cruiser will do to dual cab sales for other makers

Im not or will never be a fan of boosted small engines in big 4x4s

You know you are a Ford man when the alternative always looks better. For example, always thought the Telstar more visually appealing than the 626, Laser > 323, Escape > Tribute, Ranger > BT50, etc. I put it down to ford bias through and through.

Having said that, American Fords are what grab me most, unless we are talking XA-XC coupes.

Ford fan. It is a very good question though, because no doubt the Falcon started the interest.

I think Falcon is the model in the lineup which is a drivers car.

If they didnt sell it in any variant I would probably get a Focus ST or RS or a Ranger wildtrack.

Talking only of Fords sold new here on our fair shores, my only interest as a fan and owner is old GT Falcons with 1 or 2 exceptions like V8 ESP's and the last of those stroker Tickfords.
That said I have owned one of each of the new GT's from EB on to FG2, but strictly as well used daily transport, so they hold no place in my heart like the oldies do. Nothing else in the Ford Australia line remotely interests me. But that said the US Ford line has some sexy old school 70's Mustangs that I would be very happy to add to my fleet.

I'm both, l'd have a new Gt or Ranger tomorow if I could afford one and I'd rather choke on my vomit than own a holden. Dad bought an xb sedan when I was a kid, so was hooked straight away, even brainwashed the missus over from the dark side.
