lewy,
nice pics
but i myself are certainly not a lover of the snakes
generally as youve said MOST snakes will go about their business if left alone
and its true most bites are from trying to catch or kill them
BUT the KING brown will certainly attack even if not provoked
the wife stood on the tail of a brown, he just reared up at her, just a warning, and he went on his way
ive had a taipan stand up a foot at me, but thank fully he went the other way
man can those things move
funny thing there is a snake in every 2nd or so house/yard in australia
and they are territorial, if one happens to fight a shovel as such another will move in
but please keep the pics coming , they have some real nice colours

The King brown (witch name is no longer realy used) Is a black snake and has nothing to do with brown snakes they come from the same family as the red bellied black snake.. Again they will only have a go if feeling threatened.. Also when a snake stands up its only saying pleases don't come near me.. A snake knows all to well that your not food and will do what ever it takes to get away form you.. nearly all elapids will not bite as they don't want to wast venom on something they can not eat and a lot of the time if they do bite it will be what they call a dry bite

Im glad you like the pics Ill put more up this afternoon

i have red bellies, tiapans, carpets, browns all sorts where i live

as long as they leave me alone,im cool
only ever have problems with carpet snakes eating my birds
the rest must find food elsewhere around the yard

Only one snake here - Spotted Python (Antaresia maculosa), she's full grown at ~900mm, easily handled by the kids and generally has a great temperament...
