Well it's working so you can't be that bad. Sometimes it's better to not know so much, so you don't worry as much.

Like the people who freely look up p0rno on their computers not knowing they are stuffing it. When you know about this sort of stuff you know that free p0rno on the net comes at a price to your computer :

edit; wellwell look at that the defrag is working now. Hopefully it will get this POS runnin right now thanks to you all!
Now get rid of "PC Sillyone" and download and install Avast Antivirus Home Edition from

http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

it's one of the best AntiVirus programs out there and once you register for a key it's free!! ........it updates almost daily, had it on my system for some time now, works great, no problems at all.

Also download and install "Ad-Aware SE Personal Edition" from

http://www.lavasoft.de/products/ad-a...e_personal.php

and also "SpyBot Search and Destroy 1.4" from

http://www.spybot.info/en/download/index.html

keep all 3 programs updated and run them regularly over your system and should help keep all the nasties away.

Run Disk Defragmenter and DiskCheck regularly and never ever keep anything on your Hard Drive not backed up to another median that you cannot afford to lose, ie: copying your important data to another area on your Hard Drive is not backing it up!! .......you would be amazed at how many people think it is.

Always back it up to an external Hard Drive or Iomega Zip Drive at the very least, do not back up to floppy disks or memory drives, they are not reliable sources.

Glad to hear you got it all working again.

I like AVG more than Avast...

But anyway, check Windows updates as well and make sure you are up to date.
