Sound like Rolls would know the car is faulty before the owner does! They really have covered all basis, in regards to after-sales customer support.

Quite sure it was the guy from Rolls-Royce painting the pinstripes on the Phantom by hand.

Thought it was Bentley, but you could be right.
I'll watch them both again next time (enjoyed both of them!)

Hey if you want to see how they spray paint the Mclaren MP4-12 they have teams with one head guy who defects any problems......My god he had an eye like a hawked and that would of been a stressful job trying to make those cars perfect.

Let us not forget Ferrari has their own foundry too.

I've never ever seen an early eighties Toyota Celica like mine broken down on the side of the road.
For the same reason you don't see Rollers broken down....there just isn't that many of them around.

And yes, there IS a reason that second hand BMW's, Mercedes, and Rolls (old Silver Shadows from the 1970's and early eighties) are so damn cheap...Australia gets bent over when it comes to prices of parts and servicing on cars, apart from the Rolls, that are in other countries just normal cars. Even taxis in Germany are similar models to the ones CEO's drive here...

Why more people haven't picked up old Rolls Royces for twenty grand and fitted them with other running gear is beyond me. I rode in an old Shadow once and my god it was a sublime car. But you had it in the back of your mind that if that magnificent big V8 went wrong, or, god forbid, the complicated run-everything hydraulic and air system, then you would have to go grovelling to your bank manager for a second mortgage.

Rip it all out, fit some sort of normal suspension, and something simple under the bonnet like...shudder...an LS engine, and you'd be laughing.

Here's just a couple from one quick search...both for twelve grand each, one a '74 Shadow, the other a Spur.
Why wouldn't you just for a giggle...?

Way to ruin a Rolls-Royce. People don't buy Rolls-Royce because they're cheap to run, they buy them because it is the epitome of luxury. Money is no object for Rolls-Royce owners. If you have to ask how much it costs, you can't afford it.

I often see Adelaide Multi millionaire Lance Vater driving one of his rollers with his trilby hat on, travel mug of coffee in one hand and his mobile phone to his ear.
These people play in a very different sand box to us mere mortals. One of his gardeners drives a late 90s Lexus LS400 "work hack" company vehicle........

I hate warm weather but it does my wallet well when the VT Commodores come in with crapped out AC Compressors, the internal seals let go, when one comes into the workshop for AC not working, 90% of the time its the AC compressor internal seals
