Ford Taurus Police Interceptor Stealth concept

Like all concepts the real thing can be a bit of a let down.

It'll need to be a big car, there's a lot of equipment to jam in the front.

Most police cars I see now are Aurions. You see the odd Falcon or Commodore highway patrol car, but "normal" police cars all seem to be going the Aurion way up this part of the state.

Chrysler SRT8? Bought cheaply with the tax breaks government departments get?

However, "pursuit" is hardly a common thing anymore...they radio ahead and set up road blocks and stinger strips. High speed chases? Again, not a common thing anymore, but I don't know if you've driven a new Aurion, but they actually do shift along pretty well.

They could do a lot worse...the Pommie cops used to have Volvo T5 wagons, and those things went like dog dirt off a shiny shovel.

They should support the local manufacturing industry so post 10/2016 anything with a Ford badge will be out. Look at Aurion or whatever replaces the Commodore.
If the 2L Ecoboost is good enough for the Falcon to kick the I6s ***, it could still kick *** in the Mondeo.
