I think if all these things became reailty I'm not 4 again and doing primary school again, as I'de be in the shyte all the time!

My old cheese works at a primary school and things like christmas and easter have taken a much smaller role, because of differences in religions. All I would ask is that would things change for our kids should they go to another country?

I always thought you went to school to be educated, not just academically but also socially, as long as everyone gets their share of respect

I have a mate that has three boys, middle is about ten. There is little doubt that he bats for the other team. He would rather play with barbies than go dirt bike riding with his dad and brothers. He only has girl freinds, no mates. He is a nice and polite kid. He is lucky though that he is growing up in this day and age. I would hate think how he would be treated twenty years ago. My mate is mortified, but loves him just the same as the other two boys. I guess that this kid is the kind of kid that PC crap tries to protect, but I reckon if we all just treated each other with respect, we would not need all this other BS that gets jammed down our throats.

Agree with respect thing outback but I dont think you can decide a 10 year old is gay because he liks barbies and dosnt go dirt bike riding. Or that he only has girl friends, maybe he is just surveying the talent for future years :

Yeah I saw a Australian news article over here last week and kids were saying bah bah rainbow sheep. I mean, black is a colour, did anyone actually complain in the first place? and if they did they should be shot because trying to talk sense into them would not work.

Politcal correctness peevs me off. There is no need for it. Call it how it is.

Its like the eprisode of South Park with the re re release of the movie Star Wars with all the guns replaced with walkie talkies and Chewbucker is no known as a hair challanged species. Or the re re re release of Saving Private Ryan with the Nazis being called people with political differences and all the guns changes to walkie talkies.

When will it stop.

Political crrectness is ABSOLUTE BULLSHYTE!!! If people actually stood up and said "NO!" it may help to eliminate it? Even my gay friends say it's crap about the Fairy Penguins having a name change.

Somebody on another forum posted this version of waltzing matilda that will have to be adopted to conform to the rules

"Once a jolly swagperson temporarily halted by a water source
Under the shade of a Coca-Cola tree
And he or she sang as he or she watched and he or she waited till his or her kettle boiled using renewable solar power
"Will you consent to parambulate around the dance floor, Matilda, with me? Please?"

Down come an introduced livestock species to drink at the water source
Up jumped the swagperson and grabbed him or her or it with glee
And he or she sang as he or she shoved that introduced livestock species in his or her recepticle
"Will you consent to parambulate around the dance floor, Matilda, with me? Please?"

Up rode the illegally residing on crown land person mounted on his or her introduced livestock species of the equine variety
Up rode the Peacekeepers - one, two, three
"Where's that introduced livestock species you've got in your recepticle?",
"Will you consent to parambulate around the dance floor, Matilda, with me? Please?"

Up jumped the swagperson and jumped into the water source
"You'll never catch me alive " said he or she.
And his or her ghost may be heard as you pass by the water source,
"Will you consent to parambulate around the dance floor, Matilda, with me? Please?"

Political correctness is just going too far and I think they are doing more damage than good with all these changes.
well i dont see what the problem with bah bah black sheep is .change the song to bah bah white sheep ( i'm happy with that ) but then i suppose whoite people will get called supremists . i'm proud of my skin being white . if i was black i'd be proud of that too. if i was asian i would be proud of that too . so what who cares . i thinlk political correctness has gone too far if a black person for any reason is ashamed to here the name of the colour of their skin then they must really be ashamed of themselves . for example i have no problem with being called a white farquer or a black farquer . so why should anyone else.

I think it is worse then crap it just plain dumb, Fairy Penguins is Fairy Penguins!

I think I should go and get a T shirt made up, "Fairy thinks Fairy Penguins should remain Fairies” LOL

The whole issue of changing our language to minimise some impact on some sensitive twits is mindless. Being gay, I don’t care what people call me, any of the terms are fine with me, as long its done in a positive non nasty way. What I don’t like is when there is a nasty intent behind the comment. Other then that the whole PC notion is silly.

It's about time all this ridiculous political correctness stuff get's the and we can stop being so concerned with such trivial stuff.
You will find that it is because the correct name is an Eraser It has nothing to do with an other object

Detention for it though is a tad harsh. The only sane reason for detention for calling it a rubber is because of that other object.

Naah nah I remember them and you cant pretend your somking with them anymore becasue when they were called "Fags", they had the ends of them painted red like they were lit so you could really pretend it.

Now theyre called "Fads" and have no painted ends, and they're not fun anymore.....

Yeah, I remember them also. I also remember thinking at the time it was strange they were encouraging smoking in kids when as a kid you cant buy them.

To be honest I dont mind them not being the same anymore. Smoking is a filthy habit and should be avoided at all costs, especially for our future generation. No offence to any smokers though. Just my opinion.

I can see the new generation having safe sex by using erasers!!!!

"Do you have an eraser in your Wallet?????"

As for PC. I was on lunchbreak at work and recieved phone call form an aboriginal friend, and our greeting always was "What's up my Nigger"

An olive skinned fella from maurishous (?) overheard me and complained. next thing I know I had a written warning... what about him listening in on my personal conversation??????

Geez, back in primary school when we first discovered sexual innuendo, my mates and I couldn't stop giggling when someone (especially a girl) asked for a 'pencil', 'ruler' or 'rubber'.

People really need to get over the whole thing. I'd hate to see how some of the kids of today will end up after such a sheltered upbringing. I imagine it to be somethin like from Demolition Man. 'Be well!'

yes but did you take a look at the "fads" they dont have red tips anymore so they are not even made to look like cigarettes anymore

well what goes around comes around. I work in a childcare centre and am studying kindergarten teaching. alot of political correctness/gender equity stuff does go on but it does go back again. Once upon a time it was ok for kids to play with toy guns, i know i did when i was younger, then it was consider worng, but now early childhood educators are told that the more you tell them no to the more they will want to so its better to just let them do it.
i guess little red riding hoods granma will be thankful for all this plitical correctness, she no longer gets eaten by the wolf, she just gets shoved in the cupboard.
My kids will continue to sing baa baa BLACK sheep no rainbow sheep.

Great post and very well put. If we could all show each other respect we wouldnt have to dissect our intereactions with one another down to a science.
