Great stuff Redrum, I loved doing mock battles and such. But also retracing the steps of those that served us proudly.

Rommel was great leader - he also had a lot of respect for Aussie soliders. Apparently two Aussie soliders were captured by the Germans and Rommel met with them. They later escaped and met with Montgomery. From what I have read he didnt agree with Hitlers policies or practises but fought for his men. Later he was implied in the attempted assassination of Hitler although his involvement was limited to meeting other conspirators to the Nazi party.

Rommel always said give me a Division of Australian Infantry, just a Division, as they are too hard to control and an army of New Zealand Infantry. He had a lot of respect for the Anzacs!

War Reenactments are perhaps the one thing I find odder than LARPing (despite practically being LARPing)
That said, I'm quite interested...

I had to look up what LARPing mean't. This is dispite the fact I also roleplay. Is similiar in a fashion. We dress the part, try and play the part.

Yeap - I thought his comments were a tad 'harsh'. 2002auxr6 I recommend you read the following, if not take on the trek yourself and discover why it was not a spectator sport:

Sorry Redrum back on topic PM sent.

A large group which can be found on the net called Army Group South is based in Queensland. They though spend more time dressing up and posing and our group spend more time blowing things up...........

I don't know what you mean by "nazi helmet" but world war two helmets are and can be sold on ebay. Perhaps the details you provided were incorrect or the helmet was not genuine.............
