I'll go with either an A9X or a Group A SS.

For sure! Besides a few funny noises from the gearbox it was great. Pity from VX the Clubbies went dog ugly.

There's a few Holden's I'd love to own, not much late model though. Will be getting a LH/LX hatch some day, call me a bogan but they look tough as with the flares. Wonder if a Gen 3 will fit in.

And while we're on the Gen 3, while it might of had it's issues, you've gotta hand it to Holden (or Chev :P), that engine has done a lot for the aftermarket performance industry in Australia.

A VX II SS (with the control link) is one of my dream cars but knowing me, I'll end up unable to resist the WH Caprice.

GTR XU-1 Bathurst
A9X
HDT VK SS (the ones that only came in blue)
Walkie (my mates got one of the first built with "delete rear quarter")
Pretty much in that order to. I'm really not a fan of anything from VN onwards.

Late-model Granges and Senators look awesome. I also like the look of the VX Calias.

Since my dad owned a EJ prem new & a HT Sebring Orange 308 HT Monaro he purchased new for $3,800 in 1970 & a HQ 253 Ute the ony Holden I've owned I would have to go with those cars .

In the end if your blue or red you buy either a Ford or G.M product but both are good cars suited to Australian conditions

VB-VL any model
LJ Torana
LH SLR5000
HK GTS Monaro
HR
VX

I like all the old Holdens but since I have one myself my choices seem to be a bit biased lol.

It against my religion to say anything good about 'em but the old one I would consider was the HRT Edition Maloo a couple of years back, with the 350kW whopper of a donk in it. Everyone would get outta the way of that thing! ......Plus the boat would have to be included aswell.....!

Happy now Brett?

l had a 72 Bathurst XU-1 and an A9X as my daily drivers when l was younger and these cars were not so valued as they are today. Brilliant both of them.

l loved the LJ GTR XU-1 Bathurst so much that l have recently decided to buy one so if you know of a good original car for sale please PM me.

Cheers Simon

[For God's sake, how bout a V8 Falcon XT

All you have to do is spec the XT with the V8 and it's yours.

As for the best holden would have to be SLR 5000 or HK Monaro 327.
