PS:

xr8ute, I have uploaded a 256K bin of Y3EC at http://www.moates.net/files/1)%20Sto...%29_256K_1.bin

I did this by splitting the bin into 4 56KB chunks then piecing it back together as I said above. This will make comparison to WAFB a lot easier.

Cheers,
Jason

Thanks Jason. I just did a compare, and its identical to the 256KB bin I made when I padded the first 8kb and swapped bank8 and bank9, so good to know I am on the same page. I'll try these on Thursday night.

I'll definitely be in the market for a chip or two when it comes time to burn some stuff, but for now I am just trying to make use of existing gear (i.e. twEECer)

Interested to hear you guys are working on some real-time J3 hardware as well. Any ETA on that hardware? What software will it work with?

Yes i'd rather not be giving my money to the yanks and i'll stop as soon as u can get me a unit that works just as my burn2 does allowing me to do a full 256k read and write in one.

well i got boreder than i expected, i've define the Y3EC bin u read, to the same as my WAFB i've given u. I do have more things defined for WAFB, but i haven't added them yet, and probably wont unless some asks for something in particular.

Matt, are there any tricks to the way you built the def file for the Y3EC from the existing WAFB? Other than the obvious; spend a couple of hours typing in the new addresses etc...?

xr8ute, i open tunerpro with wafb def open, and open the file i want to define in it, i then also open eeceditor, and open in hex editor both files. I then save in tunerpro the def to the new name for it, and go down 1 by 1, which address its at, in eec editor u type in the address in the wafb, look wots there, and then use the search function on the bin your definin in eec editor. Do things like scalers first cause they will be exactly the same, and the more u get used to looking at the hex, the more you'll be able to work out, cause some arnt the same.

Most of the au v8 range and similar in areas, just spaced out differently, so if its at address 12B44, then its gonna somewhere between 12A44 or 12C44, cause its just moved slightly.

I've added the smartlock to em all now, that was easy to find. I assume the car that Y3EC come from had smartshield not smartlock, cause it still had the setting, it was just turned off.
