The locals there will tell you what they think of climate change denial.
Hottest day EVER recorded? That proves man made climate change exists?

Last summer around here it seamed to be the COLDEST summer I have ever experienced in my whole life. There were a few days with 35degree heat, but I don't think it got into the 40's once. The only explanation Global Cooling.

Do you think 1 million years ago every day was the exact same temperature? and there were never outliers of unusually hot or cold days?

Global warming and Global cooling are both natural things. They will happen no matter what we do.

Only Man could be arrogant enough to think he is at fault for the climate changing.

Many a species survived shifts throughout the Earths history. Proof is in the fossiled pudding.

The very idea of humans fearing a change in climate is utterly sickening, given our incredible advantage over the fauna that has come & gone over the millenias

Grow a pair FFS!!

who was the quickest bowler - michael holding, jeff thompson, joel garner, shoaib aktar, brett lee or shaun tait?

3 of them were recorded, 3 were not. pretty much the same principle, having arguments even though there are no records to back up the claims.

don't bother with reasoned argument backed by facts, climate change fanatics will dismiss anything that fails to fit what they want to hear as the words of unbalanced climate change deniers. They try to make the sane reasonable people sound like loons and make their flawed logic seem like proven scientific fact (which it isn't). what hope is there

LOL...yeah but even if you had a thousand years of records someone would want 10 million years of records ..

possibly...

but fact is, it is very small minded to have a couple of hot days in a small corner of the world and claim it as proof for some kind of climate change.

hot days are not new.

Damn I could definitely tell it was the hottest day we've had here for a while, but it still didn't reach 40°c like it did for two days in a row back in February 2004.

Hot days aren't new, but record temperatures are always new.

It's a trend, and a bit like the frog in the lab beaker experiment.

Throw a frog into boiling water and he jumps out right away...ouch!
Put a frog in cool water and turn the gas on slowly and watch him die smiling as it comes to the boil....

A bit like having smart frogs and dumb frogs....one sees the burner and and says...oh oh...

While the other one says...nah it's been hot before...I can see the burn mark on the bench..so water in beaker must be okay

I see the way media/government portray climate change in a similar light as religion.

There is a large number of people who bow down and listen/obey/believe what the select few people are telling them. They have no ability to assess evidence and comprehend the situation for themselves and come to a rational conclusion. They just want to be spoon fed and follow the leader like good sheep.

see my point about the fast bowlers! just because it hasn't been measured before, doesn't mean it didn't happen.

also, how can you use it as evidence for climate change (you know, some kind of GLOBAL issue) when it is a bit hotter than usual in one of the smallest least populated places on earth??

I see what you are saying but your analogy is too loose.

Geological records do exist, such as carbon concentrations in ice core sections in the antarctic that scientists, not fanatics, can extrapolate into aspects of climate trends today.

So far they are saying we will have wild weather oscillations for a period before the trend to exponential global warming takes hold.

When the ice caps are fully melted it will be like your radiator fan has finally given up trying to regulate the oceans.

They reckon that ocean temperature is the barometer for climate change,
once the ocean has no more extremes of temperature that's when it all falls apart.

In the absence of fact it seems prudent.

Everyone is talking about this like it is a problem.

Inconveniencing our current lifestyle perhaps, but not the death knell for humanity...
