Regarding Trump - the MSM is now reporting there was some truth in what he was saying

Mariupol residents claiming they are being murdered by Azov.

And here, Zelensky making another parliamentary address, this time to the Greeks. The use of an Azov clip did not go down very well.

Zelenskyy speech at Greek parliament overshadowed by Azov video
https://www.euractiv.com/section/eur...by-azov-video/

Quote:
The video of Azov Battalion’s soldier triggered the reaction of opposition parties as well as influential members of the ruling New Democracy party.

“The speech of members of the neo-Nazi Azov Battalion in the Greek Parliament is a provocation. The absolute responsibility lies with the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. He talked about a historic day, but it is a historic shame. The solidarity with the Ukrainian people is a given. But the Nazis cannot have a say in Parliament,” Syriza leader Alexis Tsipras posted on Facebook.

Similarly, former Prime Minister Antonis Samaras said allowing this video to be broadcast in the Greek House was a “big mistake”.

Speaking after the adoption of the resolution, Deputy Permanent Representative Kuzmin, suddenly stated that Russia had already decided that day, to leave the Council before the end of its term.

He claimed the Council was monopolized by a group of States who use it for their short-term aims.

“These States for many years have directly been involved in blatant and massive violations of human rights, or abetted those violations,” he said, speaking through an interpreter.

“In spite of their membership as members of the Council, they are not ready to sacrifice their short-term political and economic interests in favour of true cooperation and stabilizing the human rights situation in certain countries.”

Jump before you're pushed. It seems the UN is pretty useless these days anyway

The Bushmasters are on the way. 20 from Australia have been refitted and painted so you're looking at 5-7 C-17 flights depending on 3 or 4 per flight.

I hope that is just an initial commitment while trying to sort out getting more that are closer to the action and perhaps many more on the LHDs and/or C-17.

In other news Russia has banned a **** load of Aussies from entering including Scomo and Albo. They even banned the saint Jacinda Ardern

So Putin getting played? Got sucked into destroying Russia's economy and reputation - manipulated into punching himself in the balls?

S&P now say Russia has defaulted on their debt

That’s good to see. I use it out of laziness, quite a bit.

Unrelated, I see news articles alleging that some Ukrainian troops or support have also been involved in crimes of sexual violence - disappointing but not surprising.

Yep, they are really ratcheting up the pressure. Looks like some of the EU are finally putting in measures to reduce their reliance on Russian gas too, which is going to hurt Russia not just in the short term, but long term too as these aren't temporary measures. Putin's stupidity is going to continue to hurt Russia well after he is gone and well after the war is over (wonder which will come first)

It'll hurt Russia, but it'll also hurt EU. They'll instead have to buy gas from the other side of the world. The US are big winners out of this. As always, the ordinary people (of Europe) will pay.

So now you are an expert at long term economics?

I know who the stupid one is (and it ain't President Putin so far.)

I don't claim to be an expert in long term economics, but show me one recognised expert that says this won't have lasting negative impact on Russia's economy.

If this is a US proxy war, then Putin is incredibly stupid and is getting played like a fiddle.

Why so mad?
