Hey folks .. I recently bought a 10/04 XR8 ute - as a long term keeper ..

I've been away from the brand as a daily driver for the better part of 35 years, with my previous two drives a restored 38 Ford ute and a 48 Pilot.

I've always been around motors and always looked at ways to achieve good performance and mileage; so the latest acquisition will be no differed ... lots of good air in must equal the same amount out and the old battle of how to most efficiently achieve that .

I'm looking forward to interacting and learning more from the font of knowledge .. Many thanks
Greg S

Gday to all FORD people out there. I'm Harley Davo ,I live near Bundy ( good rum up here)and have been driving FORD POWER for over 40 years, XY, ZA, XB, XD , XP and current is 04 BA 6cyl 5sp manual which is a good all rounder work horse and daily driver. I've had a few of the Generals best over the years that include HK HT Munros and SLR5000 , but I always get drawn back to the FORDS for 1 reason, FORDS are so much nicer to drive, simple as that, smoother and more comfy. And they go pretty good too. I love the Barra 6 cyl and arguably Ford's best motor. I think the Barra has as much grunt than any of my old Cleveland 351s or 302s .I love the old FORDS, but I love em all, just like blondes , brunettes and redheads, the more the merrier. 🍻 cheers to all.

Gday all,
I’m Lachlan, I’m a heavy vehicle mechanic from Berwick Victoria. I’ve always been a ford bloke and always will be. My current rigs are a 2006 mercury silver bf xr6 4spd auto n/a Ute I’ve nicknamed trouble for being a constant pain in the a** but I love it. And a 1978 pine n’ lime Xc falcon 500 wagon with a 3spd auto and 250, that is my project car when I get the time. Past cars include an xf falcon Ute 4spd 250, xd sedan 3spd auto, xe spack wagon 3spd auto 250 and an el spack wagon 4spd auto and 4lt. (El spack was just stickers and mags haha) I’m looking forward to being a part of the ford forums family. Who knows I might even find out what’s wrong with trouble along the way
Cheers
Lachie

Exclamation Re: Welcome to New Members - Post here to say gday!

Hi folks, Sparky1 here I'm happy to have been accepted to the group.
I've been a ford fan from T model on wards, American, English, Canadian and of course Australian!

I bought an FGX XR6 new at the start of 2016.
I haven't had a single thing wrong with it.

I recently had a small ding repaired at the front, and passenger's side headlight replaced.
I also had the rear bumper replaced.
About a week after picking it up from the panel beaters, I got a park aid fail message, press select (message and triangular warning symbol display for about 1 second).
All 6 sensors work okay, but I get the message occasionally.
Has anyone had a similar experience?

I would appreciate your assistance.

Regards Sparky1

G'day everyone, joined the forum around 4 years ago when I bought a BF XR6. This forum is a treasure for anyone with basic knowledge about cars and the technical documents, wiring diagrams are very helpful to tackle big and small jobs.
Just sold my XR6 after doing a lot of work like dual zone climate conversion (dash out job), bushes and replacing three roof liners ;) etc etc
Now bought a territory as needed 7 seats. Not as quick and comfy like the XR6 but definitely spacious and obviously comes with genetic defects. Still enjoyable without stress as I can deal with most of the issues by myself.

Hi, old fart Kiwi here (miss-spent my 20's up and down the east coast of Oz in the 80's as roadie). Fond memories of the yellow XC hardtop I owned in Brizzie.

I'll be lurking hereabouts while waiting for the recently purchased left-hook '40 Deluxe tudor rod to arrive in NZ from Tennessee (March 2021 hopefully).

My other car's a V8 Holden ute.

Gday folks,

I joined the forum a while back, but this is the first time am posting something.

I have a 94 falcon ed, bought it in 99 with 80k klms on it. Now crossed 680k on it. I love the car, very comfortable. Changed a few parts along the way and it is still going strong.

Oh, they exist alright. Mods do a good job to keep them under control. Spend enough time in here and you'll get to know them.

Thank you for admitting me to the forum. I do not currently own a Ford however members of my family do. I am a retired Flight Engineer, a group of people whom are now largely redundant, and I am interested in many things including motor vehicle news.

G'day everyone, I have an au2 2001 falcon ute, I've just had it shut down on me , I think i have the code for the issue bASE or 6A5E , this came up on the dash odometer panel after I disconnected the battery and hooked it back up again , signal is red-handed, isn't the immobiliser system , I could turn it over , no ignition, but not now nothing , I understand I may be able to over ride it, thanks 👍

Ive dropped in here hoping to find some answers. My company has just brought 2 new Mustang Shelby GT350 for display cars. I am still waiting on the ordrers to come through and be deleivered. As soon as we get these two new beasts I intened on fitting them with higher psi aftermarket turbos. I hope somene from around here might let me know the best place to buy and have these fitting. I am aware that a few other things are going to need to be done also such as the ecu ect ect

Hello all,

I am from the US, north east specifically, and Im looking into building a 69 2 door into an aussie xy phase 3 ish car. My intent is to create the car that ford usa never built for us in 69. I havent looked through the coupe section yet however Ive heard of guys importing 2dr cars to Australia and completing similar projects. I figured Id post my idea.

The cars are wildly different all over however my main concern would be making the front end look better. adding foglights, changing the grill etc. not sure on engine selection yet. either to stick with a hot 351w or swap in the hotter 428scj / boss429 that mightve come in 69 if they built the car.

thanks,
rob

Hoping somebody out there can tell me what way around the engine mount brackets go on a el xr8, had them off and didn't mark them properly.
Is the right hand side bracket the one on the drivers side or is this the right handside looking from front of motor?
Thanks

Hi and G'day

I'm a new member from South Australia who has purchased a 1976 Ford Escort Ghia; the car is a barn find and really only needs new paint and some odds and sods parts.

For those Escort collectors out there I need help in acquiring 2 rear Rubber Bumper Over Riders; an interior light, an interior rear view mirror and a working Ghia clock that is located in the console.

kind regards Richard:
