I read this on focusstoc.
Keen to see that thread, I couldn't find anything that indicated as much even in the paid section, I did read about people fighting tooth and nail to get them though.

Can you post the link please?

Heading Gifford yesterday to look at a new car, spotted 2 orange ones being unloaded. They don't look too bad in the flesh.

Fords marketing department sucks with photos... look at the mk2 FG, looks horrid in photos but good in the "metal".

The ST red is a lot more orange in person, it just looks plain gloss red in photos.

Also, this isn't 1980 where cars were all poorly made pieces of crap. You can give it a squirt every now and again

Mmmm, thought that for a mere second myself, but seems a bit rough and rugged, if I find out I will advise. Its only 140mm long if that puts it in some sort of perspective, and made of a typical plastic material.

Fuel filler adapter so you can get fuel into the tank from a jerrycan if you run out on the road somewhere.

Exactly, otherwise how else can you get fuel into the tank if you accidentally run out with the cap-less fuel filler hole?

I picked up my tangerine ST today. The mechanic at the dealer said that new cars have engines that are run-in on the bench, so I could just drive it as I wanted straight away. I've put just over 100km on it so far... but not sure I can really push it just yet. Anyone know for sure?

Bah, when I got my Fiesta new from the dealership, the first thing we did was thrash it up and over Mt Macedon, it saw plenty of 6000 RPM shifts, she'll be right!

Haven't had an issue with it either.

They would be hot tested but doubtful they are run in on a stand.

Ah ha! Page 110 of the manual says "Avoid driving too fast during the first 1,500 kilometres. Vary your speed frequently and change up through the gears early. Do not labour the engine."

So there's still a running-in period. Would have been nice if that was at least indexed.

Yep, it's for when you run out of fuel. Without it you'd need the right size jerry nozzle or some crap. It actualy belond in the hatch, left had rear quater panel trim, there is a little loop it sits in.
Pretty silly place I though, lob it into the spare wheel well.

Here is Damoose's ST. Well actually its for Mum but Dad and I have already claimed it. What a awesome car, its only done 77km so far so haven't been able to get stuck into it but initial feel is amazing.

The steering response was a shock, we have not had a small car since the KC laser. The colour does look better in the flesh, I wasn't so happy with the brochures but now the car is in the driveway I love it.

Scared of giving it a bootfull? That's what warranty if for.
looks like we'll take a few other cars for test drives, but wont buy until next year. I want a 2013 plated car and I'll be pushing pretty hard for options that are available ex factory but not in Australia.
Wonder how I'll go?

I think the brochures, or pics on the web don't really do the color any justice. The ST looks better up close.

Might as well pop my posting cherry considering we picked up our Performance Blue ST today.

My god what an awesome car. Did just over 130Ks today. Even though we had the test drive last week, I can't believe how much pull it has in 2/3/4, even in 5th/6th the engine never laboured or anything. That speed limiter will come in handy.

Can't wait for the first couple thousand Ks to go by so i can give it a bit more. I guess in the meantime I get to learn the computer system, I've never seen a car with so many menu options

Speaking of menu options, anybody had any luck with text messaging and iPhone5? That seems to be the only thing not working but iOS 6 should support MAP over bluetooth.

Welcome aboard, the blue looks awesome! They are great cars and like a fine bottle of wine, get better with age, I have done 1600kms now!

I have a HTC phone and no issues at all.
