Chrysler 300C Hemi was used often for that purpose

Ford should have made a car like this.

Sadly it's just trucks or tiny hatches.

Stinger by far the best car compared to anything Ford is offering.

Change the badge to Ford and it would sell 4 times as much

Such a great car, that no one bought them, and it’s destined for the chopping block. No one wants sedans anymore.

Stop living in denial. SUV’s are more popular. You might not like it, but it’s fact.

See the KIA thread.

Yes I have and very impressed.

But I wouldn't buy one - if a wagon yes I would

The badge hurt it's sales as people assume KIA are cheap ****.

I wouldn't buy new either but they will definitely will devalue very quickly.

Of course SUVs are more popular.

People pay $100 for a T Shirt.

Buyers are stupid.

So people who buy something that suits their lifestyle makes them stupid?

But you think it’s ok to street race in the rain

Sedan sales may be dropping off,but it will be a long time before they aren’t produced any more

I don't want a sedan nor a SUV.

That's why I had to leave Ford as I love fast wagons that aren't a bus on wheels

For sure. But they have dropped off year on year for what, at least a decade now?

Luxury sedans will last longer than budget ones.

You raise this "street racing" crap.

But that's the whole point.

My car nails a Mustang or any other Ford in wet as it's made extremely high quality and delivers in all conditions even a decade old.

Why isn't Ford capable of making decent cars anymore?

You know what's better than an SUV?

Kia Carnival Platinum.

Nothing beats the KING of people movers for moving people (who'd a thunk?!)

It looks gangsta in black too.

If I ever accidentally reproduce I'm buying one of those, using that as my excuse to wear a polo shirt tucked into cargo shorts, matching socks and sandals and I'll be throwing gang signs out the window with one hand and making animal balloons with the other.

Can't get one in Manual Franco.. Plus It's way over Op's Budget...!!

A LDV Van will tick most of the OP's Boxs....

1)Turbo Petrol.
2)Manual.
3) Between $30 & $40 K............

Checked out a palisade the other day…. Holy crap it was luxo. I’d own one.

I’d like to know what “extremely high quality” has got to do with nailing every Ford in the wet.

Yes, it’s a nice build and a vehicle I’d be happy to own.

Reviews in the US were very positive and Palisade had a big price advantage over a
similarly equipped Explorer, so the bang for bucks for our buyers is definitely there.

For our market, Ford has doubled down on Everest, I think it’s a shame that Explorer is a no show
but that can’t be helped if Ford doesn’t have a RHD version, it’s a showroom hole that makes me sad.

You do know Stinger is likely to be dropped soon due to poor sales.

IMO is a great car, but I wont buy one I prefer a powerful SUV.

should have? Ford did have V6 turbo offerings other than Falcon.

Taurus SVO & Mondeo ST bother weren't sold here as we had Falcon I guess.

and all have been dropped.

They used to make a Mondeo ST estate - better than your VW too

Think you suffer a bit of badge snobbery Merc.People buy and usually overpay for Euro,s which aren’t overly reliable. The benchmark for reliability now is Japanese followed closely by Korea, then Thai not far behind.

Not pick 1 but a level or two above Ford quality.

I base this on quality not which I'd prefer.

I wasn't talking reliability rather quality of construction and level of spec.

I agree they are way overpriced especially when sold in Australia.

So, which of Ford's current offerings (and vw) have you sampled to give these statements some credibility?

The Stinger poos on a Mustang on most fronts - maybe just not the cylinder count.

What if there was a 4dr Mustang? Hmm...
