I'm sure its been said but I'll say it again. Be sure to use a password.

It doesn't have to be much, and once its set up on your pc then you won't have to touch it again. Just stops people from coming along and jumping on with your connection and your files.

OK there is this one, seems good, but is pre-configured to BBP for Voip, they do 10/call unlimited aswell.

Is there any down side to getting a pre configured WGR613? For $150 its a bargin!

what you do need is a cisco 2600 router with an ADSL 2 card, you need to route all your packets over the WAN interface into the LAn interface, you should also put in a 2600 Catylist swtich and setup some vlans so you computers can talk to each other then attach your wirelss access point and wallah you in. But thats the nerd speaking in me.

You can get some good all in one devices that are good, only issue cause there all in one, when they break they all break in 1.

That netgear one is good, im a Cisco/Linksys boy so yeah..

Ive seen some of the linksy stuff, they look to be ever cheaper than netgear.

I was told that its easier to have the cards match the router/modem, so I might just go with whats readily available; netgear seems to be everywhere, cards are only $30 each aswell.

Like I said, we are still renting at the moment, so I just want something that will do the job but isn't the elcheapo stuff.

frost your right, you did confuse me with your nerd talk _2: , not entirely though. I think I will go with an all in one.

I dont really care for a wireless "network" as such just yet, just want the internet working

Can someone by any chance go on ebay and show me a Netgear router/modem that is good?

I had everything planned to buy a WGR614, but it seems that it is not a modem, just a router.

Is that right? Like this one...

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NEW-NETGEAR-W...QQcmdZViewItem

I would like to buy one tonight if I can find one.

Cheers!
