Question shift kit module for falcon

Does anybody have a electronic shift improver on their auto falcon from shift kits .com. Just wondering what they go like?

Yep, I've got the 2 stage switchable one. I hardly use it. I would get the one with the potentiometer in it, as I reckon that even the softer of the 2 shifts is still too hard, so a fully adjustable one would suit me better - I could select how hard or soft to dial it in.

Putting mine on medium or hard shift (it didn't matter which) knocked between 0.05 to 0.1 second off my 0-100 time as measured by my g-tech on my 100km/h test patch of flat highway. This is repeated runs with the thing switched on, then off. It was quicker, but not by that much (I reckon the wheel spin you get going from 1 to 2 negates the speed of the shift over the standard sloooowwww shift).

As for installation - they come with full instructions. If you can use a soldering iron and electrical tape, you can install one. Otherwise, a sparky should be no more than one hour's labour (maybe 2).

I reckon they are great. I've got the fully adjustable one.

Never stuffed up on me, or caused any weird behaviour.

If the edit is setup well, then you really wouldn't need the shiftkit anymore.

lol...they can be "fun" when they are adjusted up too hard.

Resist the temptation to crank it right up, and adjust it to the point where the shifts are very firm without unsettling the car. They are best at this point, and the reason why I like the fully adjustable one.

That's the reason I want the fully adjustable one too.

If you get an edit and you ask for the shifts to be firmed up, you won't need a separate shift kit. The great thing about the edit is that you can have different shift firmness settings for WOT, part throttle, etc.

Thanx fr all the info guys,I was thinkin of goin for the single stage but wondered how u turn it on and off, is the switch on the unit itself? The people that are having probs with wheelspin is that on the first to second change because if my au v8 even chirped second it would be an improvement

myn is great, i got the hard shift just with the on/off button

when i need it i flick it on to hammer it...then turn it off when back to cruising!
perfect

has never stuffed up on me, very happy with it!. Make sure you get a switch but..it would suck to drive it if it was on 100% of the time

It comes with a toggle switch so you can place the switch wherever you want. Mine is on the right hand lower side near the fuse panel. I have the traction control switch which I haven't got around to putting in. It would look better with it on( The same switch the Ghia's use.) I have a single unit & have had no problems with it. I don't use it much though, great fun but as pre mentioned I wouldn't recommend using it in the wet. Useless sells & fits these type of units.

I have 2 shift kits. One shift kit with my last gearbox had the car chirping every gear when I floored it.It was very spectacular. The problem being though that it stuffed my gear box and wore the crap out of it from the extreme harshness of the shifts. It was nothing short of criminal how hard it shifted. The other shift kit is a very mild kit which I only turn on at the drags or if I need to get away from the lights quick sometimes.
I can no longer use the hard shift kit as the new second hand transmission goes straight into limp home mode.

Just a note..the wagon seemed very tough with its chirpies but it actually went slower. The softer shift kit is much much better.
