Default Seen a nice new Nissan Sykline on way home from work 2nite

Hi there
Was stopped in traffic tonight when out of the corner of my eye I see as new Nissan Skyline (4 door). It changed lanes so at the next set of lights it was right in front of me. It had a small chrome 350 badge on drivers side rear with a red GT to its right eg 350 GT. If only I had my digital camera. It then took of from the lights like a shower of s h i t so I didnt see it again. It looked like a new car its got to be less than 12 months old. I jumped on Nissan Australia website no Skylines. So im assuming a private import? Any one know any more re these Skylines 350 GT it was very similar in size to mazda6 or liberty. :

They have the same 3.5 litre engine as the 350Z and come with a CVT transmission with an 8-speed tiptronic function.
Given that they are rwd they are far superior to the Maxima we get stuck with.

I like em there is a V35 in stock at the moment two door non turbo 2003 model $44k fully complied wonder what they would cost if Nissan Australia bought the ere' hopefully cheaper. But insurance & parts & if you have an accident etc eg panels make those low volume imports $$$$.

The GTR is not a skyline any longer.

R34 had the brutal looks. Skylines have always been fairly brutish boxy sedans turned into coupes.

I don't think you can even get a turbo skyline anymore, or a manual with the big engine.

think you have it right there iphido cause the next generation of skyline only has a selection between v6 and v8 engine and no turbo mention

My friend has both 350z and 350GT(2 door coupe), tho i've only been in his 350z, i can safely say the 350GT would be just as good if not, better than the 350z. OMG... the power in the 350z is absolutely crazy.... it rockets off the line and sounds so nice. i think his 350z is modified tho.. because it sounds mean. Any1 know what the Z's got under the bonnet ? heard its a 3L V6 ?

Nope no more skyline.

There will however be a next generation GTR but thats it! No GTS-T's or GTS-4's etc only the GTR.

Also obviously made in 2 door coupe style only.

doubt they would drop the skyline name altogether. theres gotta be a mainstream version for the average consumer market.

The V35 model is a Skyline, the next GT-R will be a seperate model not called a Skyline.
The better V35's run the same engine as the 350Z, as was discussed earlier, so although they are not called GTS-T's or similar they still would go pretty well as they weigh less than a Falcon and have 200 kw stock standard.

They weigh in at 1550 kg, so with 200 kw and 8 speed variable transmission with paddle shift they should boogie.

Me thinks it wouldn't be hard to upgrade the skyline engine too, or just whack on the APS twin turbo system. If Ford Falcon's didn't exist, I would own one of these.
