yeah, but any adept modder knows this, and if they have a 215/60/16 profile, they go for a 235/xx/17 to minimise the impact!
600 for the shockies doesnt sound too bad, especially rebuildable, and if they last longer, why not! |

Defnitely go the adjustables for towing ... as you can stiffen up the rear end when having to really put weight on. It is worth the extra if you do a LOT of towing as well.

If am 18 inch tyre & 16 inch tyre have the same profile, the 16 inch tyre will make your car sit lower (FACT & end of story). Why go into legalities about wheel & tyre combinations when each state has their own laws? You are assuming & you what happens whe you make assumptions. A broad ranged, naive statement as such, IS leading people up the garden path. You stated "225/60/16 are legal & STANDARD fitment for the AU?" (???) A standard Au series I Forte has 15 inch wheels & series II & III have 215/60/16.(lol) Not everyone who posts in aufalcon.com owns an XR so don't assume we do. Get your facts straight prior to posting &/or criticizing other people's post.

Your point about 15s on the AU1 is correct, but given that there were 3 series of AUs, and series 2 & 3 all came out with 16s, and the sales of series 2 & 3 outsold series 1, I think it's fair to say that 16s with 225/50/16 which is the same rolling diameter, within 2%, as 215/55/16 (not 215/60/16) anyway, were standard fitment. You argument is flawed and wrong - as long as janek fits legal wheels (and the standards are now Australian wide, by the way - since 2001) in any size, the rim/tyre combo he fits will NOT affect the ride height of his car.
