AU SR/XR seats have much more bolstering than Forte seats and more adjustment for lumbar, also a very comfortable seat to sit in compared to the droopy Forte type.

The covers look cheap. I go for seats already in leather. Your car is so nice. You wouldn't be doing it any favours by going the covers. Get the real deal

nooooo nooooo nooooo dont even consider those seat covers save up a bit more if you have to and put up with stock seats so you can save up for a proper retrim or ghia interior. Those covers are the equivalent of making a bodykit out of cardboard like on the kfc ad lol!!!!!!!

Those pictures look familiar to me. Is this place in South Dandenong? If it's the same place, I'm hopefully going there on Saturday to see what these leather covers look like because I'm thinking of leathering up the AU. I had a picture sent to me of an AU that they did. It looked really good.

Um, I'm not quite sure... I think so.

Let me know how you go, and what you think, and maybe some pictures. I think for now, I'm going to get my doors done next week, and get some throw over seat covers, until i work out what i'm going to do with my seats.

thought it was them......

they look good in black.... but would be better if they had some sort of a Tighter fit , guess i mean more SNUG to the actual seat!
i was considering this at one stage too!

( know anyone selling BLACK AU interior? )

I like the look of leather way better , but i hate how cold it gets on cold mornings , i think i find the cloth with the valour trim centre more comfortable and warmer than the leather seats. Easy to scuff the leather too , also drys and cracks eventually if not maintained propperlly . Still though - for that profesional tidy look , leather wins hands down imo . ;) .

Woah, this is an old thread. Unfortunately, I haven't done anything about it.

FTG AS, sold the TE50 trim :( I stuffed around for to long.

And the Leather trim at the wreckers is probably still there, I just wasnt too keen on it, because of the condition.

Idealy, I'm after a custom leather job. But at $2k, no thanks. So I'm after:
AUII/III XR Cloth Seats
AUI/II/III S-Pack Cloth Seats
AUI/II TE50 Velour/Cloth Seats

Cheers,

LG

The velour trim went for about $700. I'm so spewing :( The Leather Fairmont/Fairlane Trim was about $1k (although condition was poor). But who knows, it could of come up good.

Yes, I've seen those seats. The guy has advertised them on here. Again the condition is not really up to scratch for me.

Thanks

I know.... I'm only really interested in the seats though. I would buy the lot, but that leaves me the situation of not having a rear seat :(

And I don't think many people/wreckers will want to seperate.

But over time, hopefully a set will pop up.

Cheers,

LG

Okay, it was useless, the leather seats were sold already. And the car had only been had for a few days.

The S-Pack seats are no good, the driver's seat is missing.

I did manage to come across a fairly nice set of AUII/III XR Cloth Seats. I'm also going to talk to BLUPRNT XR8, about his seats.

So, I think that'll complete my interior off! Then a nice set of custom car mats.

the seat covers arent a very good fit....

if going genuine ford leathersets dont, half of the seats are vinyl ...not leather....get a few hides of leather...800 and less for 2 hides, good quality, save up and trim the seats....usually a good trimmer charges about 4-6 k for good quality,..the cheaper prices are usually dodgy, crap thread, foam etc....

hope this helps

One of the things that made me buy my car was the leather trim looks good and feels good.

When i had the ute i had the cloth interior due to it being a XLS.

Well if people can fit EF seats in EA's etc etc I dont see how BA-> AU could be any tougher.

worth a crack perhaps?

It's a bit old, but i still haven't finished my interior off. The Falcon seats now, are in great condition and look very good. But i feel I want something with more support, and a better pattern.

So i'll keep my eyes open!

As much as the BA XR seats look and feel really nice... And I don't think i want a XR on my seats. My car is a Falcon, and proud. lol.

Cheers
