Hi guys,
A collegue at work has a S2 Futura Sedan with the courtesy lights, my S2 SR Sedan is almost identical, but doesn't have them. I was thinking of installing them. I was wondering if the wiring for the lights is already in the roof? I could get 2 lights from FTG and install them. What would be involved, has anyone done this before? Is there a template or something for the roof lining? If that was mucked up, it would look woeful! GK

not sure how its done either but an option is to run a wire from the centre light to the courtesy ones that your talking about that way theyre in sync.... also i think you would only have to cut a small enough hole for the wires/bulb to fit im not sure..
if you do find a way let me know this sounds interesting also ive seen and heard about the footwell lights where are the hole/whatever and is there already wires there? im thinking a light blue theme to match my new gear knob

the courtesy lights are the small lights above the top/rear of the passengers doors inside the car.

Same lights that are in the wagon in the rooflining. Oval in shape and have a oval switch which pivots left and right, one side is off, the other side is on.

im actualy thinking of taking the globes out off my back courtesy lights soon , i got no kids so i dont use them , and there is enough light in the car from the centre light without the rear courtesy lights coming on all the time too .

Hi guys,
I have fitted the rear console light and the front footwell lights from the LTD and fairlane onto my AU II XR8. Just go to a wrecker and get the 3 bulb holders with a tail of wire coming off each one. There is a bulb holder fitting in the front footwells and the rear of the centre console. Simply remove the console and punch the blanking plate out. Buy a new lens to fit in its place and fit the buld holder into the console. Run the 2 wires to the T BAR selector or shifter. Also insert the bulb holders into the front footwell positions and run the 4 wires down to the same position at the shifter under the console. Simply find the cars courtesy light wires here and tap in (I can't remember the colours check the manual for the codes). Its easy and looks great you get good illumination in the front and the rear  Cheers Engineer |
