Hi
First post New to site and sorry if this has been covered already. I had a thermostat housing with new thermostat replaced 2 years ago. Its has done 2000 km since then with no problems as the car is not a daily drive. So recently the car after 10 minutes of running then suddenly unloads a lot of coolant with the temp gauge reading normal with no external leaks other then the tank. I have pressure tested the system that passed and have used a bottle on the expansion tank to help bleed. I can hear a sorta vacum leak under the alternator. Is it possible that the pump or thermo housing is suckin air ? Big thank you for any response |

Where's the coolant spewing from?
Did you check the radiator directly? A lot of these modern cars tell you only to check the coolant tank, but that always assumes there's not a leak somewhere else and the system is properly bled. Any signs of coolant in the oil or oil in the coolant? Head gasket leaks can cause it too. |

The over flow bottle was leaking from the cap. But the coolant was boiling in the bottle. Some bubbles with running and pressure test to confirm no leaks. Don't now what it was but no issues. Hate things that fix themselves by putting a part in that makes no sense. As it should not boil with the cap off at idle after 15 minutes !! Thank you for your reply |
