A test if there's any fuel injection is ?in theory to disconnect the exhaust from the turbo and see if any diesel is coming out. If it is switched off by PCM there shouldn't be any.

Another theory is connect an oscilloscope to an inductive pickup. Make a coil of copper wire around the injector cable. ?The injector pulse is in the millisecond range. If you see pulses then there are pulses, if you don't you don't.
