I'd be guessing Mandarin or Blood Orange, but as it's a non factory paint job, it could be Mitsubishi orange, or Lada orange - ie any hue of orange under the sun.

its definately not mandarin, as mandarin is metallic and looks totally different. It looks like blood orange a BA mark 1 colour. Paint code is HO.

that's interesting, cause i know a guy that use to work for Brad Garlick Ford, and he lent us his Pursuit 250 when one of our cars was in there for whatever reason, and it was blood orange.

aside from that, that ute is a respray.

Definately Blood Orange. You wont find the code on it as its an aftermarket respray. Ive only ever seen 1 AU in a BA colour which was a genuine factory spray job - was an AU3 Futura in Acid Rush, one of the VERY last AU's ever made and the colour was to test the paint. Compliance Plate had the right code too.

Yeah, this one was a sedan and it would have looked ok but it was 4WD height and had those ugly cheese cutter rims from the Fairmonts.

That's right, Ford did do some late AUIII's in BA colours to test the paint application in the factory. I too have seen an Acid Rush AU, as well as a Blood Orange AU, but only base models - imagine how much a factory, BA colour painted AU XR might fetch extra?

Interesting. I saw an AU XR ute in Canberra in the Rapid colour. Maybe it was one of those cars. I thought it was a respray. Only saw the car once.

Was Rapid a BAII colour though? Could be either way with the XR ute.
