I'm even worse, I can remember my fathers car number plates (GLL-223, 1955 Hillman; JMF-766, 1966 Hillman wagon; KXY-792, 1971 Mazda Capella; LYL-079, 1974 Mazda 929 sedan) then my first good car IGD-298, 1975 Mazda 929 coupe until I bought my $25 personalised plates in 1979 (MK-xxx which is a re-issue from a 1947 black Morris-they had the original card with details at the Carlton registration office) which I've still got on the FG, so remembering that is not a problem. But to remember my wifes VW Polo numberplate, I have to look each time before I book it in for a service.

BTW, my $25 original plates now cost around $100 each time I transfer them to a new car, plus the fees for the new plates to put on the old car when I sell it. Although the dealer paid for this the last time. But one advantage of my plate is it doesn't carry a stupid slogan, just 'VIC'.

Does it really bloody matter?
I mean EVERY vehicle has a number plate.
I don't like my tax file number, my medicare, or my ph number much either.
Pay the $395 and get what rocks ya boat if you reckon your particular plate is "ugly"

My only issue is coming up with an acronym to remember my plate number.
Instead I'll just have to remember what car I drive

God damn!! Didn't think of that combo. Don't like it, will make rego numbers harder to memorise.

Moot point for me anyway, my wife recently bought me a set of plates which are now on my daily which I will carry through all my cars from now on.

I don't see those numbers every time I walk to my car!

They had to do something different I guess, but this combo just looks odd.

Look at the bright side, it will be harder for OTHERS to memorize your plate. Maybe the new format should be 1AA1A1? The slogan should be: Watch the Road, Idiot!

Better get used to them as there are 37 million combos and last 50 years before new ones needed.

I'm more concerned about the slogan "Stay Alert Stay Alive".

Is it really that risky to cross the border in to Victoria that we need to warn others that you need to keep your guard up when in Vic, because of how badly we drive?

The slogan is terrible.

Garden State, On The Move, The Place To Be - all positive angles on Victoria. The new slogan is a generic message with no meaning whatsoever.
