That's what they said about Ford when the same thing happened last year.

Sad news. Having been made redundant myself (im in mining) recently it will be hard for those involved, but a relief at the same time.

Dowlings next headline will probably be along the lines of

Holden's 400 job cuts, all due to falling falcon sales.

It is the first time in memory Holden has publicly announced a redundancy program for engineers. The move comes as most of the work done on the new Commodore has been completed before it goes on sale in June.

Heard recently that the next Commodore would be based on a FWD global platform. I guess this announcement all but confirms it.
