Default Focus low compression on cyl 3

Hi gents, the sister in law just brang her car back from the mechanic. She's got a focus 06 model. In the report he wrote, low compression on 3rd cylinder and suspect head gasket.

Anyone know if this is common on these models. Car has only done 65k.

Any advice of $$$$ or whatever would be appreciated.

Cannot help on cost but #3 is the cylinder that usually gets the hottest if a 4 cylinder car is worked hard or runs low on coolant water.
Usually also means a plane of the head as well as the aluminum heads warp easily in all cars
The alternative is crappy valve sealing but that means the head has to come off anyway
