I'm surprised, being a Ford forum, there's been no mention of the falcon punch as a contraceptive.....

The pain can be epididymitis which was treated a few times with antibiotics so it takes a while to settle if you get it- as far as line pressure
goes no difference that I've noticed- but there is the slightest sensitive area at the base on the under side which was incision area...12 yrs ago now -no swimmers that I'm aware of wriggling around.

My fricking eyes are watering...

I was considering it, but then the missus, after having years of problems with early menopause, had to get a hysterectomy, so that took "the snip" off the map for me.

I'd heard about that syndrome before, and it was one of the things worrying me. It's not a simple procedure that is "nothing to worry about"...it does have complications that you should research before making a decision.

It is a simple procedure, but like everything medical there is a cost vs benefit to be had.
You could look at it like this:
1. Abstinence - yeah, sure!. High failure rate. Low fun rate.
2. Condoms - pro =best protection against sti. Cons =high failure rate (5% per year, cumulative), loss of fun factor, ongoing costs, breakages, latex allergy.
3. Oral contraceptive pill - pro = low failure rate if taken properly. Cons = often fail due to illness (vomiting, diarrhoea, antibiotics), weight gain, mood changes, risk of breast cancer.
4. IUD - Pro = very low failure rate (less than 1%), lasts 5-7 years. Cons = requires specialist to put in, risks of uterine perforation, infection, falling out, ectopic pregnancy.
5. Depo hormones - Pro = easy, low failure rate. Cons = reaction to depo, weight gain, mood changes, infection at site.
6. Female sterilisation (tubal ligation) Pro= permanent, low failure rate. Cons = it is a genral anaesthetic procedure with attendant risks, it is an intra-abdominal procedure with risks ( infection, perforation of bowel, ileus, post-op pain and nausea etc).
7. Vasectomy - pro = cheap, rapid procedure, only cuts just below skin, low failure rate. Cons = psychiatric influences on outcome (if you think it will affect your perormance it will!), cysts, pain, haemorrhage into scrotum, infection and a few others.

Take your pick!

in some cases this is correct that is what I was treated for but it was later found to be PVPS

I think the biggest issue for me was the expectation that was set that a) the procedure would be pain free, and b) recovery would be easy over a couple of days.

So if you prepare yourself for 7 days of pain and mild discomfort, with then another 7 days of minor discomfort, then you'd be fairly accurate.
let him make his own properly informed decision. present the facts by all means but nobody should advise anybody to or not to have this done. there are serious risks involve that had me on the vrege of suicide at times, people need to know this before deciding if the risk is worth it

You failed to mention sti's as a con to options 3-7.
