Default loud bangs in Brisbane

Anyone else just hear that?

I'm in Kangaroo Pt at work and trying to work out what that noise was. Was a series of loud bangs 10-15 or so. To loud for fireworks as you could feel the pressure change in the air as well as the reverb off of the cities buildings. Sounded like it was coming from the south? Maybe tunnel blasting, I even though a supersonic jet going over

While the basic Ford Six was code named Barra, the Turbo version clearly deserved its very own moniker – again enter Gordon Barfield.
We asked him if the engine had actually been called “Seagull” and how that came about.
“Actually it was just call “Gull”, because I named it that. Because we knew it was going to poo on everything”.

New speed camera strategy perhaps, a bang to go with the flash to really scare the bejeebers out of people?
