Default A/C and A/C Max in AU1

What difference do these two settings have?
Given the engine is spinning at the same speed how does it make more cold air? Does it load the engine more to go for A/C Max

In AC the compressor switches off at lower engine revs to conserve power/ fuel. On ac max, it only cycles as head temp rises.

A/C draws in fresh air, A/C max recirculates cabin air.

hey on the aircon subject..
My fan settings seem to be the same.
Say if it is on 1, you switch to 2.. there is NO difference. it only works well when it is cranked to full...

is this normal??

I think your fan speed resistor is cactus.

REmember IF the AC is on and the fan speed is set off, it still runs on fan1. If you slide it to 1, it will make no difference in flow as it is already at that speed.

Hi,

More often than not I would say the fan resister is clogged up with dirt and leaves stopping it from working. I have only pulled apart one of these on an EB and its 2 screw you need to undo around the condensor area.

Take your glove box off and have a look under the dash. I'm pretty sure its near the circ/recirculating box and flap which is located towards the passenger side door side. There may be minor differences between the E Series and AU but i don't think it will be too much different.

Sorry about the vague information.
