I think I read somewhere that AUs have an illumimated ignition key hole?
Mine doesn't! Should it? It's an AU11 Fairmont. Also, is there any way to make the interior lights stay on longer? Sometimes when I get in the car, the interior lights go out before I've got the key in the ignition, and even if I open the drivers door again the interior lights don't come on again. Ross |

It should have an illuminated key hole. If you get in the car and don't put the key in the ignition the lights should stay on for at least 10 seconds then start to fade out.

More than likely just a blown bulb - on the underside of the steering column there are two philips head screws that hold the 2 plastic column surrounds together. Unscrew them then the plastic bits will unclip (with a little force) and you should be able to get to the bulb. It's a T5 bulb from memory but check that.
As for the delay - being a Fairmont, on your headlight switch will be a delay meter, turn it all the way up. It controls the headlight delay but if my memory is right it should do interior light delay too?

The AU Wags had the interior light issue with the drivers front door, never fixed it...
The keyhole light has probably blown... Replace it (I can't remember the size sorry) and it should work

Yeah, everything AUII+III had a little bulb above the ignition keyhole
My AU1 Classic had cruise and premium sound, but no bulb. wtf!
