Default WANTED Type 9 5 speed.

Anyone know of one for sale? Been watching ebay and no luck.
I know eurospeed sell them but $900 for a non reco box seems rediculous considering they go for 50 pounds in the UK and theres about 20 on their ebay at any 1 time.

Any help would be great!

Aaron

A friend recently bought a reco'd 4spd for his Capri Mk2 (yes 2) and was cheaper after freight to his door than quoted in Oz. He just needed to wait for it....6wks from memory.

yes...sorry. He found the box on eBay as an Uncollected rebuild. Shop was selling off to recover costs. Freight was 200GBP.
I think he just got very very lucky.
You could try ebayer 'smcka' (BNE in think).

Yeah, I'm in the same boat too. I've been debating whether or not to try this guy on eBay UK.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Sierra-Capri-K...item19c3f09666

While I can't vouch for the quality, the price at "First Motion" is the best I've come across & freight is about line-ball with what Allan mentioned.
Basically a fully reco'd type-9 delivered to your door for about the same price as a second-hand one from Eurospeed.
Like I said though, can't vouch for the quality myself & have been unable to find any useful info regarding the vendor either.

Cheers, Jason.

Yeah i noticed that seller on UK ebay. Im starting to think the best way might be to organise a bunch or people that want them and ship a few pellets of second hand ones over, keep 1 each or what ever and sell the rest to pay for the shipping. Just need someone reliable on the UK side with some shipping experience.

Thanks, I'm aware of Brian / Small Four Spares.

Another place worth trying might be Yesterford in Melb. I've had positive dealings with them in the past and they know their stuff inside out.

And the Capri Club of Vic might be able to put you onto other suppliers. Worth an email.

Stumbled across this tonight on the MG car club of Qld. site -

http://www.mgccq.org.au/classifiedpa...S%20FOR%20SALE

The ad was posted in February though, but you never know, might be worth a call still?
