Where to from here???

What consumption could be achieved with a Diesel Hybrid? A bank of batteries and a 1.2-1.4L diesel would surly get sub 3L/100 usage?
The first Diesel Hybrid will be the Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4

It's a very clever system - diesel engine up front driving the front wheels, and an electric motor down the back. Expected fuel consumption is 3.8L/100km (but it is a much larger vehicle than a Focus).
