Smile Happy camper again!!

Just got back form Macarthur spares (NSW)
Got a used XR6 leather red mono wheel and a black Tbar chrome (vynil) knob all installed for 200 bucks.
Time to buy some leather gear! What should I get to treat the wheel?

This thread is useless without pics.

Any leather reconditioning/reviver products ... Meguiar's products are good. I have used it on my new wheel ... and damn it makes a huge difference.

Is that Parts Plus along Smeaton Grange Rd????

Leather gear? Darlinghurst would be a great place to start. And after you've been there you could try http://www.leatherique.com.au/ to keep it nice and soft.
On a serious side I haven't tried the leatherique stuff but all the Jag guys say its tops. According to their site they're in Lindhurst, near you?

They had a black AU1 wheel and a Grey still in an XR8 (boy was it a mess down one side) The Grey was going to cost more and I liked the red better anyway.
They only had Grey Leather auto shifter so i got the black with the chrome button as well.
If anyone looking for leather XR8 seats they have a good set from that car.

i've also fitted a blue/black momo wheel and momo t-bar handle.

www.cardomain.com/id/scrubasfalcon on page 7

I have since removed the Forte and Series 3 badges for a cleaner look.

Wanted to do a few more mods to it but I may be purchasing an XR6 in the next 3 months or so.

Blue looks good. So does the shifter. Might keep an eye out for a red one.

Default leather

Yep Leatherique is a great choice. I have known about it for some time through the USA but have contacted the australian distributor about it

Lots of other top brands available too
Remember with all leathers to check if they are clearcoated or not

Put a few drops of water onto the surface
If it goes off/wipes off without changing the colour, they are clearcoated
Water that darkens means uncoated.

Traditional hide food treatments won't work on clearcoated, you will need to use a cleaner and a protectant that works on all types
