Default New front shocks. 2 part question

1stly i'd like to know if XR6 standard height shocks and Falcon Standard Height shocks are the same.
i dont want to lower my XR6 it scrapes out enough due to the front bar on it.

secondly i found these shocks on Ebay. is this close to a ball park figure or are these cheap and nasty to be avoided?

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Ford-Falrlane...item588959e5ec

if their crap can anyone make suggestions as to what i should get. a rough $$$ value and maybe a part number if possible.

thanks in advance

Standard XR6 shocks are the same height (travel) as normal.

You can however option a shorter shock for applications where you've gone really low on the springs. It's the springs that change the height, not the shocks.

As for a quality shock, Koni, Eibach, Bilstein are always considered great gear here, with other brands next down the rung.

You will get lots of good advice from good guys who've used the top shelf stuff shortly though.

Cheers,

GK

i have the same shocks in my au wagon with kings super low springs ,
there pretty good , and not a too harder ride either
just my 2 cents
some people might say they are too soft ,
just right i reckon
my wife has pedders with the same spring and it is very stiff , almost bone jaring ,
hope this helps you out

Im currently using Bilstein & Eibach setup and could not be happier , my Eibach springs have not dropped in height since installing them over 4 years ago , as for the bilsteins, still going strong , the added advantage of higher end shocks is that most are rebuildable and different dampening rates can be used , eibachs use a cold proccess to wind the springs which is patented , no heat used , thus virtually eliminating sagg . BUT IT ALL COSTS $$$$$$$$$.
MINE SITS THIS LOW , and has carried a heap of weight without bottoming out

I changed my factory series 2 ghia springs over to lovells sports lows recently and asked the retailer about the 36mm Lovells eliminator Performance Strut. I told him I didn't want the suspension to be really stiff, as I like my comfort. He stated the Lovells struts were great, but targeted toward performance ie track days etc, and that I'd probably find them too stiff. However if your not terribly worried about how stiff they are, then maybe they'd be the struts for you. Part numbers for the front are: 74710013, and for the rear (i presume you have irs with your xr6 vct) the part number is: 74710015. Prices at a guess would be around: front $320, and rear: $284. Don't know what other "performance" oriented struts are worth. As far as I am aware eiback don't make springs for IRS equipped au's, and not sure what bilstein have on offer. Munroe are probably ok as far as struts are concerned, though to a certain extent, you get what you pay for.

Cheers
