Default I've lost my spare key and keypad- options?

As the title suggests, I have misplaced my 2nd key and keypad for my AU3 XR8. I've done a forum search but I'm still not sure of what my options are.

Question 1: Is the actual key a generic key that I need to get hold of and then re-program it, or have it re-programmed by Ford?

Question 2: Do I need to go to Ford for a replacement key?

Question 3: Do I need to go to Ford for a replacement Keypad?

Thanks for your help on this one, I want to get this sorted pretty quickly before Murphy's Law kicks in and I lose my own set as well.

1/2: i got a key from for ford which was $118 + $32 to get it cut, because you now only have one key you have to get them to program it aswell... you can program a 3rd key yourself but not a second (you need 2 keys to add a 3rd)

3: just ebay a keypad, programmings easy, turn the ignition to "on" and push the dimister button i think 3 times within 5 seconds, doors will lock, press the unlock button on keypad 1 then 2, then take your keys out

Cheers Cam

I had this issue when I got my car - only one set of keys.

Key bought from eBay - $20 delivered
Key cut at key cutting place - $25
Key programmed by Ford - $60.50

All up, $105.50

Keypad I got for nix off a mate who had one lying around and just programmed it to the car.

Give "Oakleigh Locksmiths" a buzz on 9568 6344 as they can cut and program a key + supply and program a new remote. HTH
